Location: On the A30 near Zelah. Shot this on my new Nikon Z50. The location is less than a mile down the A30. Taken with the 16-50 Zlens which came as a kit with the camera. Sometimes we travel miles to try to take amazing photos when sometimes the best shots are just around the corner so to speak. The road has a particular fondness to me as my daughter lives in East Yorkshire and I have travelled it many times to see her and bring her back to Cornwall. These Wind turbines tell me I am home.

Location: Ingalalla Falls, South Australia This is a picture from Ingalalla Falls, one of my go to spots for cloudy days after a bit of rain. Really is a nice spot and incredibly easy access. This is a composite image to get the depth of field and allow different impressions from the image. The foreground is using a 6 stop ND to get the swirls in the water with a 30 second exposure. for the falls in the background no filter as I wanted to keep some energy in the waterfall, so used a 14 second exposure show some movement with blaring it totally.Canon R5, RF15-35 f2.8L, ISO 200, Foreground f14, 30sec, 6 stop NISI ND, background f10, 14 sec

Location: Breenhold Gardens, Mount Wilson, Blue Mountains With a day off work, my husband and I went on a road trip to the Blue Mountains to visit Breenhold Gardens. The unique heritage listed Garden Estate of Breenhold at Mount Wilson is one of the most extensive privately owned garden properties in Australia. The gardens are open in Autumn and Spring to share with visitors. We arrived at around 10am on a Friday morning with our 12 week old border collie puppy in tow on his first outing. The weather on the drive there wasnt looking good with the rain coming down however we were lucky enough that the rain held off while we were there.Landscape photography isnt my forte. Generally you would find me capturing photos at zoos or at the river close to home capturing birds and wildlife. My purpose on this day was to practice landscape photography. Two weeks prior, my husband and I came off his motorbike. I received a couple of broken ribs and he suffered a small fracture to his ankle. Despite the accident and the pain, I was determined to stick to the plan we had made prior to the accident as I knew the colour wouldnt last long. I chose to capture Ladburnum steps within the gardens as I loved the composition of the leading steps, the colours of the trees and the colours of the blanket of fallen leaves. I captured this photo on my Canon EOS 6DMKll and Sigma DG OSM 24-70mm f2.8. The settings I used were 1100, f2.8 and ISO 500. As I shot in raw, I did a little post editing in photoshop, adjusting the shadows, highlights, contrast and slight colour adjustment. I would definitely recommend visiting the gardens and would suggest you dont leave it any longer than early May to capture the autumn colours. Entry fees are 15 for adults and 5 for children over 5. Dogs are also welcome on leash.

Location: Nubble Light House, York Maine, USA Nubble Light House, York Maine,USAF11,15 second, iso 100, 16 mm. Sony a6400, Sony Gmadter16-34 mm lens . I have been to Nubble Light House a few times but as everybody else I have got average photos from the each trip. So I wanted to plan this time to go there with right conditions. And I planned my trip there on partly cloudy day for a sunset shooting with hope to have a good dramatic sky and so on. And it was a glories sunset over the lighthouse. I had to bring my rain boots to get down low in the water get on the rocks were literally in the middle of the ocean. I had to wait to tides to get as low as possible in order to get on the rocks super low. Once I was on the last rock I could possible be on. I new this was my composition. I am super happy with this image. Here are couple facts about the Nubble Light House. When Voyager 2 blasted off aboard a Titan-Centaur rocket in 1977, it carried a cache of images depicting life on Earthincluding a photo of the most iconic American lighthouse, the Nubbleon the chance that it might be discovered by curious extraterrestrials. The light from the Nubble Lighthouses Fresnel lens is visible for 13 nautical miles in clear weather.

Location: Cedar Rock Falls, Pisgah National Forest An early morning hike in Pisgah led me to these beautiful falls. Along the way, I was treated to loads of wildflowers including trillium and lady slippers. It is an easy hike from the Pisgah Wildlife Center to Cedar Rock Falls, but the final approach to the falls is a bit steep and muddy. This is a blend of 3 exposures, with a few adjustments to the blacks, but that was about it from post-processing. 16 sec ISO100.

Location: Gloucester MA, USA This image is taken during a rain storm, right before an amazing sunset over Glaocester Massachusetts. May 2021. I was shooting gorgeous double rainbows behind me but then, I saw this classic Gloucester house, the sky and the tree in front of the house! So I had to capture it. The atmosphere was literally glowing with colors and filled with drama.

Location: Lake Cuyamaca I've been fairly obsessed with Milky Way photography for 6 years now. I found it to be a rather steep learning curve until I began to be satisfied with my results. In 2020, the year of Covid, I would often venture out alone to find these compositions. This image at Lake Cuyamaca was made at about midnight. It's a stack of 16 exposures at ISO 4000, 15 seconds, f2.8 with a 16mm lens. I use the free Sequator software for Windows to stack the images. Stacking reduces noise which can be objectionable with long exposures at high ISO settings. Camera is the Canon EOS R. For me the combination of a high quality image of the stars along with an interesting landscape are the ingredients for a successful Milky Way photograph.

Location: Lead Mine Clough, Rivington This is the second waterfall you come to along the valley, it is usually a single spout but because of the recent rains the flow has increased a lot. It was early in the morning and quite dark, so when i used a polarising filter it gave me an exposure of 3 seconds at ISO 160 on my fuji XT3.

Location: White Pocket White Pocket is in the remote region of the Paria Plateau, containing endless photographic opportunities of swirling, multicolored formations of Navajo sandstone, including domes, hoodoos, gullies and potholes. Reached by a long drive on unpaved roads, some requiring a high clearance 4WD vehicle. In this barren landscape stands this lone tree, which I was lucky to photograph at sunset, capturing its reflection in a small pool filled by recent rainfall. The glow of sunlight on the water and the diagonal lines of the white sandstone made for a very attractive composition. The original purpose of this trip was to photograph this same tree at night, composed with the Milky Way behind it, which I did and will post at a later date. I have visited the area previously and I am always amazed at the beauty of this bizarre landscape and highly recommend a visit for creative landscape photography.

Location: Seven Magic Mountains Area After checking my TPE to see where the Strawberry Moon was rising, I saw that if I travelled just a bit on Las Vegas Blvd. S., south, into the dark, Mojave desert, I might be able to get a cool shot. When the time came, in THIS case, around 745 this shot was taken at 830, I grabbed my backpack and tripod and set out.I parked in the Seven Magic Mountains dirt parking lot and headed out into the Mojave to set up.With Joshua Trees being my favorite of the desert, there were plenty to chose from for my foreground. The light from the rising Strawberry Moon and the clouds at the base of the mountains gave me even more time to set up. I found my tree, set up the composition and waited. I was disappointed about the clouds when I first arrived, but this time they proved beneficial! The Mojave never disappoints!!

The town has adopted these tiny creatures so there are lots of photo opportunities. The owls tend to be out of their burrows early in the morning and late in the day. Location: Lake Bonney The 2021 total lunar eclipse reflecting over the still waters of Lake Bonney, South Australia. Perfectly framed with the Milkyway core. One of the most amazing sights to see in the night sky is witnessing a lunar eclipse at totality. This year we were blessed with the moon positioned next to the milkway core. I so headed out on an adventurer to Lake Bonney, South Australia. Ive imaged many eclipses before, the images I always like are the ones that show the landscape and tell a story. Unfortunately my story for this trip was a perfect clear night right until totality where cloud decided to interfere. This image is a few minutes after totality once the clouds had moved on. Location: Park Tannas Taken as part of my Dance of the Fireflies shoot, I had four Ballerinas on set, shooting each of them against vintage cars, loctions and props. I had reduced the ambient exposure to 1200th and metered the subject at F4 for my key light, I had placed a seperation light about ten degrees camera right from the subject and tight against the back wall. Metered this 11 to the key light but featherd it away from the subject and ensured it didnt flare into my lens. My assistant on set was instructed to time throwing the material up with the dancers actions as I knew that the seperation light would act as a large fill light across the material. In post production I added some flare to the headlights, brought down the overall levels, then selectivly burnt in some HDR highlights. Masked out the seperation strobe, then applied Dodge and Burn to add dimensionality to the shot. Final process was to colour grade the shot. Camera Sony, software Capture One, Affinity Photo. Location: Belknap Lookout Park Over the years, I've tried to get images of the downtown Grand Rapids area that I'm happy with from the Belknap Lookout Park area, using a conventional camera, handheld, or on a tripod. I was never quite happy with the angle of view, or there were bushes or grass or a tree in the shot that were distracting. So, last week, I decided to take my DJI Mavic Pro drone instead, take off from the park area, and see what I could get that way. I hovered over an empty construction site for a while, changed altitude and angle of view a few times, and got several images that I liked. This was the best of them, I think.I processed the image in Lightroom starting with a contrast-heavy black and white preset that I found somewhere, and then switched it from Abode monochrome to Adobe color. I also adjusted the skew of the image just a bit, but did not have to do much as the image came out of the camera pretty well balanced. Thanks for inviting me to submit the image!

Location: Tipsoo Lake, Mount Rainier National Park To capture a photo of the Milky Way above the still snowbound Tipsoo Lake in Mount Rainier National Park in June is a bit of a stroke of luck. A shot such as this requires the cooperation of the weather, the moon and the wind. All of those things lined up for a brief chance at 2 am Friday morning, June 18th 2021. I parked at the rest area near the the lake and grabbed my equipment and trekked across the melting snowpack to the edge of the exposed water and waited a short while for the moon to set behind Mount Rainier. I captured this image and others as soon as the moonlight faded. The clear skies and lack of wind allowed for a near perfect reflection and good detail in the trees and landscape.

Location: Queens Hills, Costessey I'm so happy with this capture! We've only had our bird feeding station for a matter of months and already we have had a variety of visitors. Between the quibbling Starlings, we had this very cute fledgling Blue tit with it's sibling and parent. It seems that the fledgling who can flap and shout the loudest gets fed first! Because they are so quick and I thought it important to capture the detail of the wings, I used a faster shutter 11250. I could only use f stop 5.6, as thats largest aperture my 300mm lens will allow. It was a beautiful sunny end to the day Roughly 4-5pm, therefore my ISO was 250.As an amature, I have only used Adobe Lightroom for post processing. Here I reduced the exposure of the surrounding ground to draw your attention solely to the fledgling, and the background wasn't particularly appealing. I often use birds as my subject to challenge my technical skills and patience! It's very rewarding when your patience pays off!Thank you! I hope you enjoy my capture.

Especially on those calm mornings on the beginning of spring when rising sun illuminates the valleys. It was a long plan and I had to come back good few times to experience this moment until everything worked out. No wind, sky clear enough to give photo the right color contrast and enough light to illuminate peaks in background and separate my silhouette from them. And of course to make it all even easier it has to be in blue, orange and green color scheme, with me standing in water on cold morning without any movement for bit over 10 seconds talking sarcastic . Editing part was all about taking the calmness of the scene to perfection as water was like mirror and I was trying to fix little imperfections and get more depth into the scene. Location: Waryas Park, Poughkeepsie NY I took this photo on Fourth of July back in 2013. I had my tripod on the rocks of the waterfront park to take long exposure firework photos. After the big finale, my friends hurried to pack up to beat the crowds leaving the park, trying to rush me along. But I had two more shots I wanted to get while I was set up. I took one photo of the bridge completely defocused to bokeh balls, and I did the same shot focused on the bridge. That was this shot.Gear was a basic Vivitar three way tripod, Canon T3i, EF 50mm f1.8 ii 80mm full frame equivalent.Settings were 6 second shutter to blur the water and get low ISO of 400, and an aperture of f4.5 for adequate depth of field and supposedly the lens' sweet spot for sharpness, and blurred out the foreground. Beginner gear can get great results when used with a tripod!

I chose this location as it has great leading lines and the lighthouse in the background. I was lucky to have the cloud formation as this adds drama and colour. I used a canon m50 with samyang f2.8 ultrawide lens. Settings where f16 iso100 160. I used the higher f stop as I dont have a filter. I did some post processing in lightroom.

Location: Lockport, NY I live in Waikiki, Hawaii and am visiting my father who lives in Lockport, NY. Every morning I take a walk around the block a very big block as my father lives out in the country. I kept walking by this wheat field and said to myself that it would probably be a good picture if i could just get the wheat and no sky or woods that was behind the field. So after walking by for several days, I decided to step off the road and walk into the field to take the picture that I had in my mind. After about 3 intitals pictures, I finally took this one as I liked the placement of the wheat stalks and how they bent. I always post a picture oin Instagram daily so i used this image for my picture of the day. I selected the X-Pro II filter for the image as I felt it made it pop more than the original image. Though the original image was pretty good also. It also crossed my mind to try black and white, but i liked the monotone color of th tan. Thanks.

Location: Dartmoor - near Haytor The Story We took a quick drive up to Haytor for golden hour to get an image of my partner Genni near the iconic rocks that always remind me of the foot of some huge sleeping troll. Main shoot done, I wandered about looking for any other nice shots - you never know what you are going to get! I saw four ponies, and approached very quietly with eyes down, eventually managing to get close enough to take this shot. The ponies are very calm and unhurried, which is lovely when you're taking multiple exposure shots like this. There is a slightly melancholy air to this pony in the shot, but it seemed happy to be with its family, just wandering around looking for something nice to munch on. Location: The Japanese Garden, Tatton Park Camera Canon 5D Mk4, hand held, image stabilisation activated.Lens Canon 16-35mm f4 L 16mmISO400130th second f10Exposure bias -1.3 stepsThis shot was taken in May 2019, before the spectre of Covid-19 was beyond our contemplation. Tatton Park is a regular haunt of ours and we usually end up there a number of times each year along with Dunham Massey and many of the National Trust properties around. It is a single shot, processed once in Lightroom, so not HDR, although it may appear so. The day was was very bright with big variances in light between dark and light areas. In order to preserve detail I exposed for the sky and this allowed me to bring up the dark areas in Lightroom. As you can see there is a lot of detail hiding in here, but I don't think it makes the shot too 'fussy'.I tend not to take a tripod to this location so to get a reasonable speed at f10 I had to increase the ISO to 400, which my camera copes well with one of the main reasons for buying it. The sweet spot on this lens is between f8 and f14, hence f10 and before I took the shot I checked the depth of field using the facility on the camera.I could have used 'live view' but unless I'm focus stacking or shooting macro I tend not to.I placed the building roughly on the top third point intersection and used the fence to lead your eye into the this shot, across the lake. I was back here earlier this year and the fence has moved so the view is slightly different now, but there are lots of opportunities for good shots at this point and to lose yourself for three or four hours around the park.

Location: Epphaven Cove, North Cornwall Coast As is quite often when I set out with camera, the shot I plan to take is quite often not the one that I come back with. This was the case with this one as I had misjudged the tide times. Therefore the beach, which only appears at low tide, was still covered in water. My planned beachsunset shot was therefore out of the window! I took a few shots from the headland whilst waiting for sunset and hoping the tide would retreat far enough to get down onto the rocks. More cloud cover came in and I almost called it a day. But with 15 minutes to go til sunset I was able to get down into the cove and find this composition. I guess my beach shot will wait til another day.Epphaven Cove is on the North Cornwall coast, about a mile walk from Port Quin. At low tide a beach appears and joins with the neighbouring Lundy Bay. Location: Washington Park, Albany, NY I've been to this park hundreds of times over the past 10 years, and have photographed many elements of it in every season. On this particular morning, I came across this view with the early morning light, and wanted to capture it as I saw it. This was tricky because of the broad range of light values presented from the sky to the lamps and the walkway and ground. To capture this mood I took several exposures bracketing by up to two stops over and under an average metered exposure. I processed the best 3 in Camera Raw for the shadows, highlights, and mid-tones, then stacked them as separate layers in Photoshop, and using masks and a pen tablet, selectively blended the best of each valued exposure, then fine tuned the image, and cropped to achieve the final image and mood presented here.

Location: Inverness, CA BEACHED ON A SANDBAR IN Inverness, California, the abandoned Point Reyes Boat would seem to be little more than a large piece of detritus littering an otherwise protected wetland, but dont tell that to the droves of photographers that take advantage of its moldering beauty.Known as the Tomales Bay Shipwreck, the Inverness Shipwreck, or the S.S. Point Reyes, the tall fishing boat was once in danger of being removed, but it was local photographers who actually saved it. The vessel was originally dragged aground by the lands previous owner who had intended to fix the ship up. However, like many fixer-upper projects, he never actually got around to the repairs, leaving the boat, which still bears the name, Point Reyes, to decay on the shore. When the land was taken over by a wetlands restoration firm, the boat was an obvious target for removal. But thanks to the attention the local photographers and visitors gave the wreck, the company allowed it to stay right where it was.Today there is a small sign and trail that leads to the picturesque wreck. Its possible to actually get on the boat, but it is not advised since the wood is rotten and riddled with holes. The last thing youll want to do is enrage a group of photographers by damaging their favorite boat.

Location: Byron Bay Being from the Central Coast, NSW originally from England we came to Byron Bay on holiday with the intention of possibly looking at relocating later on.Having family in Lismore gave us the desire to move further north. With Covid and the demands of being a Paramedic during a pandemic, my photography went on hiatus. Being in Byron was the perfect opportunity to reconnect with a hobby that not only is great for an escape and my mental health, but something I love to do.The last few sunrises I managed to capture were all a but lacklustre so I wasn't expecting anything special. I just wanted the opportunity to head out and experience the local area before the rest of the tourists woke up and flooded the town.Needless to say, sunrise didn't disappoint! I managed to get the drone up and shoot this shot of Cape Byron Lighthouse.Over the week that I was in Byron, I managed to get shots of the area on both my drone and DSLR and that holiday gave me some of my favourite shots to date.Whenever I am in Byron Bay, I always feel free and relaxed. Location: Burley, Hampshire The most embarrassing moment...This image was taken on October 14th in the New Forest at first light around 7am in a very dense morning fog. I had never seen a stag in the wild and as my friend Gary had a good knowledge of where to find them, we met in the woods in the dark of the night and simply proceeded to walk toward the bellowing by ear, in full camo outfit and as silent as we could possibly manage. We finally spotted the distant figure of the deer through a very dense fog and separated, ambushing in the ferns and bushes and hoping the stag would simply walk in front of us. Just as I was getting in position, the alarm clock on my phone, which I had forgotten - went off! The worst rookie mistake conceivable... I scrambled in panic and embarrassment to kill the alarm, sure the stag would simply run away but instead, he immediately began to walk straight towards me coming so close that for a moment I really began to consider my escape route and where the nearest solid tree was but shooting continuously all that time. I actually shot 442 frames within the 3 or 4 minutes the encounter lasted, filling my memory card as fast as my 13-frame buffer would let me.The deer stopped about 25metres away from me, looking directly at my hide, and bellowing in alarm there. This is when I had a handful of good shots including this one. I don't think he was actually able to see me but he definitely was aware of the DSLR on continuous shooting!I was using a canon 70D and a canon 400mm f5.6 prime lense my birthday gift from the week before on a monopod no image stabilization and at this distance, I got a number of shots where the stag fills the frame pretty tightly. Besides, being so close, the fog did not totally kill the colours or contrast and a boost of contrast and saturation in Gimp is all that was needed afterwards in post-prod. Despite the fog, this golden hour was in fact a very nice and luminous morning. Shooting at f5.6 full open, 1320s and ETTR13, electronic noise proved very contained too especially as the subject was filling the frame. Luck of the beginner it was the first time I saw a stag in the wild one of the most exciting moments of my wildlife photography and because everything went my way distance, attitude, light, lense, settings... it also turned out to be my two best wildlife pictures so far... with a funny, yet very embarrassing back story to tell at dinners!

Location: Point Vernon, Hervey Bay This is where 10 Months of Hobby Photography has gotten me to I guess. I am always exploring both locations & techniques with my photos & the two combined to create this picture. It is a long exposure playing around with layered filters & very little photo editing. The location is one of my favourites & on this day the clouds after the rain, the fire & smoke in the air & the tide times all seemed to want to work. I have a simple saying in life, Universe it just wanted to happen for me.

Location: Point Loma I knew the moon would rise over Banker's Hill so I drove around Point Loma trying to find a shot over the bay. There are a lot of secret pathways between streets in Point Loma but they are impossible to find unless you live there. I parked and walked around trying to find a good spot and I noticed a person walking their dog walk between houses. So I followed him at a distance and walked through a path that opened to the view you see! I quickly set up my tripod and took the shot just in time. I got really lucky with the clouds over the moon!

Location: Tucson, AZ - Near Saguaro National Park East Sorry for the lateness of my response. I didn't notice your posting of interest in this shot. I am uploading it in case you are still interested and I thank you for selecting it in the first place.I intentionally picked the day prior to the 100 full moon because the timing of the moonrise 20 some minutes to clear the mountains and the sunset were close enough to ensure sufficient light remained on the mountains to allow their details to show.I exposed the shot for the moon as if I were shooting a rock in the sunlight which is basically the truth - 1125th at f8 and ISO 100 and I bracketed plus and minus from there to capture three exposures for an HDR result. I used a Canon EOS-RP with an adapted EF 70-300mm f4-5.6 IS USM lens at 300mm. The editing was done in Adobe Lightroom and used Topaz Labs SharpenAI plugin.

Location: Location was Bruntwood Park, Cheadle, Greater Manchester. Taken with an Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III with a Panasonic Lumix G X Vario 45-175mm lens. I've got back into photography recently after a few years break and I've been enjoying the transition to a mirrorless camera, although I still use mostly auto settings. I enjoy how compact and lightweight the camera is, compared to my last DSLR canon camera and so I'm more likely to take it with me. I'd been to the swimming baths and decided to visit the Park on my way home. I was sat on a bench watching some pigeons feed on some crumbs, and then a gorgeous Mandarin Duck decided to join them. What a nice surprise! I've never seen one before. I later saw another male Mandarin Duck and took quite a few photos of them both. I used Photoshop Express for post-editing. I've since learned that the Mandarin Duck is native to China and Japan but there are around 7,000 living in Britain.

Location: Brunswick Park Wednesbury A friend of mine asked if I'd do a shoot with her little boy George. So I wanted to create an autumn look from cloths to colors and had the image in my head that I wanted and had already done a walk of the park for the best location. On the day the weather was dry and bright however the ground was cold and wet, I had a ground seat pad placed on the floor land piled leaves round the base , job done . George sat still for around 20 seconds but as I set up my camera ahead of the shoot , got my shots, someone once said preparation is the key to success . I always think that photos are a window to your memories, so George will have this image for ever.Carl Gorton

Location: Niagara Falls State Park, NY We planned our annual vacation this year to New York as we wanted to drive and camp due to COVID. Knowing our first stop was going to be Niagara Falls, I began planning this photo shoot weeks in advancelooking at others photos and researching Google maps. I had three sunset opportunities. The first night it rained, but the second night looked promising. With camera and tripod in hand, I arrived about 2 hours before sunset and claimed my position. This became an important move as more and more people arrived to view the sunset over the falls. I use aperture priority for landscapes, thus f11 was my choice for depth of field and ISO 100 to minimize noise. Being on a tripod, shutter speed can be whatever is needed. I always shoot in RAW, and for this shoot, I also used a Little Stopper ND filter to smooth out the water. Setting a 2 second timer, I began taking multiple shots. When I returned home, I excitedly loaded my photos into Lightroom for processing. I limit my Lightroom adjustments as I do not like the picture to be too processed and not look natural. This was my final product, and the best photo from the entire 12 day trip across the state. Needless to say, I was very pleased with end result!

I actually took this picture with a phone and wearing a wetsuit, lol.I am usually quite hard on my pictures but this one came up really nice, especially for a phone camera.BTW my phone I took this shot has completely stopped working, it had a really nice camera especially for night shots, which is a shame. Location: Millennium Bridge, London, looking towards Blackfriars Bridge. Waterloo SunsetI had been doing some street photography around London. I ended up on Millennium Bridge, just as the sun was setting over Blackfriars Bridge and Waterloo, which was too good an opportunity. As my main purpose had been street photography, I had decided to travel light and not take a tripod, so I had no option but to take the shot handheld, despite the fading light. Location: Brooklyn This former grain elevator was built to help NY compete to be the nations greatest port, after Baltimore and Philadelphia respectively. Sadly once the grain elevator was completed it not only failed to generate a profit but became redundant, financially impractical and other more cost effective sites were favored at the time it cost up to four times to unload grain in NYC then anywhere else. My reasons for visiting the site were two fold historical and to chronicle. Historical due to the fact these locations are being demolished and to experience a NYC site with history instead of just reading about it was a major draw for me. As a chronicler, because now I can see this architectural marvel at the time of concrete and space in person and photograph it. Looking for lines, symmetry, angles and demonstrate through photography what it would be like to see as an employee at the time would have seen.

Location: Abrams Falls, Cades Cove Abrams Falls is one of the most visited and most photographed spot in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Thus, I hoped to create somewhat of a different perspective. I chose a long exposure shutter speed, a wide angel lens, and positioned the tripod approximately 75 yards from the falls. This was to create the feeling of calm and peacefulness by emphasizing the large runoff-pool in the foreground, even though the falls were running full with an aggressive volume of water. The entire scene is to be appreciated as a relaxing place to spend some time, versus singling out the power of the falling water. Canon 5D Mk4, 20mm, f20, 4, iso 100.

Another important factor was use of a good polarized filter. It made all difference by bringing out the deep rich blue of the sky and highlighted the streaks of clouds. Not much lightroom editing was needed

Location: Pryibil Beach, Glen Cove, New York The photograph was taken on March 17, 2022, in Glen Cove, New York, USA.I went to the beach with my dog on this foggy St. Patrick's Day to capture pictures and videos of a bridge and seagulls. I knew the fog atmosphere would not last. That magical moment had to be captured. In my mind, I saw what was possible, but when I arrived at the location... I was amazed by the weather. It was a mix of cold, breezy, and humid that anyone else would turn around and head home. I took out the camera and walked for about an hour 453 to 553pm. Some kids passed by and I waited for the perfect shot.In the end, you only see this formidable white wall of fog, and you don't even realize what lies behind it then, you come to your senses and realize it's the vastness of the ocean. Right there, you just surrender to the moment, and it feels like a walk into nothingness.

Location: The Levant Mine complex, Cornwall Taken on holiday in Cornwall last August. I had, for long time wanted to got to Cornwall and photograph, amongst other things, some of the old mine buildings. The Levant Mine was worked for tin and copper between 1820 and 1930. There are quite a few buildings and chimneys that form the complex with some great angles for shots available. I read up on likely locations in 'The Photographers Guide to Cornwall by E. Bowness, published by Long Valley Books, which gave some very useful information on locations and places for good shots. On this particular day we looked at the Botallack Mine, Wheal Coates Mine and Levant Mine all of which yielded great sublects. Luckily the weather played ball and this shot was one of my favourites from the day.

Location: I-25 & 44th Bridge A buddy and I took off to shoot the city of Denver on 3-12-22. I did not have any new shots of the city and I wanted to get some really nice photos capturing the whole city at night from multiple locations. At our second stop, my buddy Nathan McDaniel said he had seen a nice shot on the web but was unsure where it was, so he started mapping it out. We finished up shooting where we were and packed up the gear to find this little gem and as always Nathan led me right to it. We shoot at night all the time, usually Milky Way and Light Painting, almost anything, so I have come to trust his judgment and collaborate often. We pulled up to the bridge at 44th and I-25, grabbed our bags and found the hole in the fence, and started shooting, changing camera settings and glass on the fly to grab the best images we could. Location: Exmoor I originally wanted to frame the old masonry arch bridge in the royal forest of Exmoor near Doone Valley, but wasn't completely happy with the light. To the side of the old bridge lay a small stream that I decided to investigate. The scene in the image really caught my attention to I decided to throw all my eggs in one basket and concentrate on getting the scene and totally discarding the old bridge which I came to shoot. As the light was overcast and quite dull and bland, I decided to try various shutter speeds and apertures to get the job done without the use of an ND filter.

Typically on this day the scene was not so photogenic. I was out of bed and out of the house so I decided to head to a spot on the River Wey where I had planned a sunrise visit since the Autumn. As the light was changing fast and just as I had composed this near perfectly formed tree in my viewfinder, I was greeted with this short spell of pre-dawn glow. Within minutes the sun had peaked over the tree line and much of the mist had gone.Shot at f9, ISO160 for 120 sec at a 70mm focal length.

Location: Omaha, NE I was out scouting one foggy morning trying to see if I could capture something good. It was at this moment that I felt truly blessed to be able rise with the sun. When I arrived on scene I couldn't help but notice a pine tree and a ground that was covered with pinecones. I believe spiritually that there is a meaning among many things and one of those is pinecones. Did you know that pinecones are seen as a symbol of enlightenment and illumination in the Christian faith Almost 9 years ago now I walked away from alcohol and drugs and decided to seek help for addiction and trauma. I have turned my life around 180 degrees and fought to be the best version of myself. Simply put, what I'm trying to say is that I was gifted to be enlightened by others. To learn, grow and achieve better outcomes. I also believe that my soul is illuminated brighter than it's ever been. I will never fully understand why or how the universe works it's magic exactly, but I am truly blessed to be alive and be able to see things clearly for what they are. You could say the symbol of the pinecone is a captured picture version of the journey that I have rode for the past 9 years.

Location: Venice Rookery Venice Rookery is an Audubon managed property. They have dozens of condo style birdhouses that are all inhabited by Purple Martins raising their young in the springtime. These birds are not usually seen here in SW Florida. The houses are designed to be cranked down for maintenance by Audubon volunteers. The birds have no problem with that arrangement. They are used to human presence, allowing me to take all the shots I want from about 40 feet away as they feed the babies insatiable appetites. The adults come flying in with dragonflies and other insects every couple minutes. On this day, I took scores of these pictures in the late morning when the sun was bright so that I could stop the action with a quick shutter. The landing and food exchange happens so fast with these swift birds, it is impossible to catch the action after the landing. The technique that I developed was to focus on the babies and wait for them to lean forward and open their mouths. That meant that they could see food coming. At that moment, I would hit a burst of photos and hope for the best. This photo is one of my favorites, catching the perfect moment in the exchange, with clear views of each bird. This was shot using a 400mm lens on a crop sensor set at f5.6, 14000 second, ISO 800.

Location: Utah One of my favorite things to photograph are forgotten buildings. I had my eye on this old house for about 2 years, never being able to photograph it due simply to a lack of time and other geological interests to photograph. Located in Utah, in one of the darkest areas of the state, I knew I could line up the galaxy with the shack and create a decent composition. The finished result is pretty far from what I originally had in mind, in fact, this picture was a complete accident. I had the camera set with a 20 second timer and shooting in increments of 3 photos each at 30 second exposure times. I was inside the house, light painting the inside with flashlights while the camera was exposing. I was so focused on light painting that I did not realize the third picture had not been taken yet. I turn my headlamp on the red setting and walk into the night toward the camera. As I approach the tripod I hear the shutter close and realize my mistake. Just like our lives, sometimes mistakes can lead to something amazing. This photo was edited in Adobe Lightroom. It is a single shot. The two red streaks on the right of the frame are from headlamps a buddy and I were wearing. The ghost hand also on the right is my hand reaching for the tripod, illuminated by the headlamps. Location: Gainsborough Myself and Murphy my German shepherd, love long walks in the evenings after I finish work. We tend to get ou around 7.30 - 8.00pm. We try not to go the same places. Whilst walking on a playing field Murphy decided to run through some hawthorns. I followed and emerged on top of hill in meadow with the sun setting in front of me. It was a slice of paradise tucked in the middle of an urban landscape.

I was at Eungai in the afternoon and could see the storm and the colour building to the west.
