Opening in cinema today, Friday 10th, are Jim Jarmusch's Golden Lion winner Father Mother Sister Brother; Rob Reiner's childhood classic, Stand By Me; and François Ozon's critically acclaimed adaptation of Camus's The Stranger.

Actor, writer and comedian TIM KEY will take part in a Q&A at the IFI on April 29th following a screening of last year's hit, The Ballad of Wallis Island. Remaining tickets on sale HERE.

Our Alan Gilsenan retrospective continues with screenings of All Souls' Day on Saturday 11th, Marsha Hunt – Made In America on Sunday 12th, Samuel Beckett's Eh Joe on Monday 13th, and The Asylum on Wednesday 15th. Explore the season in full on the IFI website: ifi.ie/alan-gilsenan/

Special events coming up include a screening of Richard Linklater unmissable romantic staple Before Sunrise on Sunday 12th, the first of our April Before trilogy screenings; and our first After the Monster IFI Talk on Thursday 16th, which explores what happens when the art we love becomes entangled with troubling knowledge about its creator.

PART I: MONSTERS AND THE FAN'S DILEMMA

This IFI Talks panel explores what happens when art becomes entangled with troubling knowledge about its creator. Inspired by Claire Dederer’s Monsters: A Fan's Dilemma, the evening begins with a virtual keynote from Dederer, followed by a panel with series curator Roe McDermott, writer Dave Rudden, author and podcaster Sophie White, and moral philosopher Farbod Akhlaghi. They’ll explore whether it’s possible - or even desirable - to separate the art from the artist.

IDOL WORSHIP: AN EVENING WITH MINK STOLE AND PEACHES CHRIST

Idol Worship comes to Dublin for a special one night only event at the IFI, marking the Dublin debuts of cult cinema icon Mink Stole and drag impresario Peaches Christ. This acclaimed live conversation and performance event is a rare opportunity to experience two legends of queer counterculture together onstage for the first time in Ireland.

Idol Worship explores Mink Stole’s extraordinary legacy, from her groundbreaking collaborations with John Waters and the Dreamlanders to decades of scene-stealing work across film, theatre, and music. Scandal, glamour, filth, and divine weirdness are all celebrated through conversation, film clips, and carefully curated archival moments.
