Are you a creative writer getting ready for NaNoWriMo? Click reply and let me know!

For many writers, this month is  known as 'preptober', a month of preparation for writing a great novel in November. Often we can focus on panning, scheduling, and getting focused on our work. However, one of the most overlooked things is preparing ourselves mentally and emotionally, and that's what the Writer's Wellness Journey is all about: keeping you inspired, focused, and ready for anything.

Our creativity isn't determined only by what we do in our writing session, it's fostered by every other area of our lives. It's like training for a marathon. It's not just the act of writing, or the run on race day, that shapes you into a masterful storyteller.

Every facet of your life contributes to the strength and endurance needed to reach the finish line. Your diet, sleep, exercise, and mental wellness are all integral to your performance.

They are the training ground upon which your writing, your ultimate race, is built. To truly flourish, you must nurture each aspect with intention and care.

So, join me on this 10-day holistic journey to enrich your life and writing, ensuring when it’s time to put pen to paper, you're not just ready; you're at your peak.

I wanted to send this video along just so I could share personally about this journey, and what I hope it will bring to you.

Do you feel burned out or stressed as a creative writer? Or are you looking to boost your creative process with fresh, rejuvenated energy? I deeply believe our creativity doesn't begin and end with our writing practice. I believe that every aspect of our lives is interconnected, sacred, and a contributor to our creative process. How we nourish ourselves in our daily practice is what fuels our creativity.

For the past several years, I've embarked on a journey of delving deep into this concept: that creativity is simply a byproduct - a result, an overflow - of how mindfully we live our lives. If you had told me ten years ago that yoga, meditation, or nourishing myself through good food would make me a better writer, I probably would have laughed. But as I began to wade gradually deeper into living minimally, mindfully, moving my body, nourishing myself through holistic practices, my whole world began to change... and my creativity began to flourish.

I was stressing less, taking the pressure off of myself, and yet I was writing more than I ever had. I wanted to share my journey and what I was learning on this path. I began creating videos about creativity through mindfulness for my YouTube community. I was finding so much joy in this act of sharing these simple, mindful methods with other writers that I decided to assemble a comprehensive course: a 10 day wellness journey... designed and curated specifically for creative writers.

This journey is a humble and deeply personal sharing of my own practice - the rituals, tools, midsets, and movements I invite into my everyday practice - the things that have literally become the essential building blocks of my creative practice. If you decide to embark on this journey with me, you will find that this journey is not about me acting out the role of "teacher", speaking from some high place of "enlightenment", but rather you will find me a passionate and excited friend, a humble guide, ready to share and travel this path of mindfulness WITH you.

I believe that as writers, we have a sacred responsibility and burning desire to tell our stories, and manifest our deepest power as storytellers. I believe that we tap into that power by living mindfully, and nourishing ourselves mind, body, and spirit.

And that's exactly what this 10-day wellness journey encapsulates. We're going to take a deep breath... and focus on the following each day:

  •  Engaging a deep, meditative state at the beginning of each day. (You can practice these meditations either in the morning, or at the outset of your writing practice). Each guided meditation will be focused on helping you breathe deep, ground in the present moment, and align with the creative potential inside of you. Meditation is the cocoon for our metamorphosis as creators, and it has changed my life.

  •  Starting each day with a pause, a cup of tea together, and a mindful discussion. If you follow me on YouTube, you'll be very familiar with these casual, organic talks as we delve into different aspects of mindfulness and take time to ponder how we can positively impact our creativity through our practice. It's the closest thing to sitting down for a cup of coffee or tea together!

  •  A delicious and nourishing plant based recipe to fuel your body and mind, giving your energy and vitality to lean into your creative process. These recipes are simple, easy to make, and delicious!

  •  A movement practice, where we will explore invigorating yoga asanas, slow, mindful stretches, and emotionally balancing breathwork. This part of the day will be all about carving out time for self care, and moving and breathing however feels best for your beautiful, unique body.

  • In additional to ten full days of step-by-step guided videos, I've also added two bonus pre-writing sound healing sessions. I like to use sound healing with singing bowls to ground and clear before I begin to write or embark on a creative project.

This is going to be a unique journey for every single individual. I believe those who need this course will find it, and my deepest hope is that this practice can serve you in the most positive and impactful way possible. If you feel like you need something to stir your soul and spark the creative fire you know is burning within you... I invite you to join me on this path. Stoke your fire. Build new, positive, and nourishing habits, enrich your spirit, and tap into the profound creative power within you - through mindfulness.

Bowing to you... Namaste,

Kate
