is a session you would like us to organise that we haven't covered.

Are you an organisation that involves fundraising volunteers or are considering this approach moving forward? Celia Currie, Fundraising Regulator joins us to share her thoughts and give some guidance on the Code of Practice around fundraising volunteers.

Lucia Kearney, QUB will give insights on becoming more appealing to students. Due to instant messaging & other online developments, young people expect more immediate responses & want to begin to volunteer as quickly as possible. How can we, as a sector, become more welcoming & adaptable?

30 Mar  |  Volunteer Involvement of the Over 50's  |  Guest Speaker:  Dr Jurgen Grotz
In the late 1990's, the 50+ age group were least likely to volunteer, but before the pandemic, it reversed and they became the most likely to volunteer.  We don't yet know exactly what the current situation is, but we can identify key issues that might influence whether and how the 50+ age groups volunteer now and what that means for volunteer involvement practice.

This is a basic awareness course for those working with children, young people & adults at risk.  It covers legal & policy context of safeguarding, what abuse is & who abuses, reporting concerns & code of behaviour for staff & volunteers.

This session is designed to help organisations implement the required standards of practice for adult safeguarding, as outlined in Keeping Adults Safe: A Shared Responsibility.

Session 2: Variety & Educate - Take time to investigation and plan for your organisation. Volunteer Now Enterprises Ltd, working in partnership with JoinHer, bring you a series of four 2-hour session on Diversity, Equity & Equality.

This one day certificated training is suitable for Designated & Deputy Designated Officers. It covers knowledge of the legal context of safeguarding children, an understanding of the role & responsibilities of a Designated Officer & much more.

This refresher training covers the role & responsibilities of the Adult Safeguarding Champion/ Appointed Person, the safeguarding structure for NI, consent, capacity & coercion, organisational & Trust responsibilities & much more.

This 2-hour online workshop covers what is befriending, the benefits of befriending, effective communication skills, body language & tone, face to face vs telephone, use of questions, boundaries. Participants will receive a FREE Befriending Top Tips publication.

21 Feb 2023 | 10am-1pm

A half-day session designed to support those recruiting & managing staff & volunteers within organisations with the wider policy and practice framework around adult safeguarding, as per our publication, Keeping Adults Safe: A Shared Responsibility.

22 Feb 2023 | 10am-11.30am
