The inaugural Two-Story Writing Challenge starts next month and will challenge writers worldwide to create two short stories in 72 hours. When the competition begins on July 30th, participating writers will be placed in groups and assigned two different genre, action, and word assignments. They will have 72 hours to create original short stories no longer than 300 words using each of their assignments. Judges rank the stories within each unique genre, action, and word assignment, and writers receive points based on their ranking (15 points for 1st place, 14 points for 2nd place, and so on to 1 point for 15th place). The top two writers from each group who receive the most combined points for both their stories will move to the final round and compete for over $10,000 in cash prizes. Feedback from the judges is provided for every submission, and the writers retain all the rights to the stories they create. The early entry deadline is tomorrow, June 25th, so make sure to register soon before the fee goes up. Happy writing!
