With just over two weeks to go until the start of Earagail Arts Festival 2026, ticket sales are starting to ramp up. So we have highlighted a number of events for you this week that we highly recommend booking soon!

SELLING VERY WELL: Piaras Ó Lorcáin & Cairde attracting people to Árainn Mhór

Féile Róise Rua and Earagail Arts Festival present a special evening of music and song. Set against the stunning backdrop of Árainn Mhór’s shorefront amphitheatre, this unique event celebrates folk music, song, the Irish language, and the energy and creativity of young and emerging artists.

SELLING WELL: George Houston, Neil Burns & Marty Smyth in Culdaff

Three distinctive voices from the North West share the stage at McGrory’s for an intimate night of original music. Donegal alt-folk songwriter George Houston brings haunting vocals and poetic lyricism that have earned international attention. Derry-based composer and pianist Neil Burns blends classical, jazz and folk influences in richly layered songs, while Malin indie-folk artist Marty Smyth offers reflective, heartfelt songwriting shaped by life between rural Ireland and London. A compelling evening of storytelling and song from three exciting regional artists.

Exercise your funny bones and discover the art of clowning around with internationally acclaimed clown Fraser Hooper. Through improvisation, rhythm and play learn how to develop your timing and build comedy routines.

SELLING WELL: Prose workshop with Dean Fee in Rathmullan House

Join writer and editor Dean Fee to discuss childhood narratives in fiction and non-fiction. Childhood narratives allow a writer to not only critique the world through the eyes of the innocent but, for those interested in memoir, it also allows them to examine the emergence of their own artistic sensibilities. 

Much of what we encounter as children can shape the people we become later in life. It’s easy to look back and notice, but the real skill is in how to capture it. Conversation is key, so participants should come with an open mind and a willingness to discuss.

Join Laura (Dj BIG CHEEKS) and Ian, founder of Ubuntu Trekkers (a hiking community for Kenyan expats in Ireland) for a beginner-friendly hike through the landscapes of Donegal.

Together with poet Samuel Yakura, this is an invitation to experience nature differently; through movement, creativity, and community. Chargé d’Affaires of Poland to Ireland launches festival programme

 

THE Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Poland to Ireland officially launched the 2026 Earagail Arts Festival Programme in Ballybofey on Friday 12th June.

The official launch of the 39th festival programme was performed by Mr Artur Michalski at a public reception in the Villa Rose Hotel & Spa with musical entertainment by the Finn Valley Men’s Choir.

Launch MC and CEO / Artistic Director of Earagail Arts Festival Paul Brown, said as it celebrates nearly 40 years, the festival has been reaching out to more of Donegal than ever before, with a programme providing access to the arts to more of the county’s citizens.
