| Hi Stu, At The Court House, we enjoy a healthy mix of new and original music, as well as carefully selected covers material. You can scroll down for a list of shows in both categories but this week we're highlighting a pair of shows that blur the lines between the two. Jazz Sabbath is the brainchild of Adam Wakeman – son of the legendary Rick, and also a longtime keyboard and guitar player for Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne. After a late night hotel bar session of jazz-improvised versions of Sabbath tunes in 2013, Wakeman formed the group, forged the moniker of 1960s jazz pianist Milton Keynes, releasing an exceptional album and mockumentary telling the fictional tale of the band’s formation. Jazz Sabbath’s work received rave reviews from both rock and jazz critics and from Ozzy himself. |
