A SNAPSHOT REMINDER OF DOCS IRELAND 2026 OPPORTUNITIES & IMPORTANT DEADLINES OVER THE MONTH OF APRIL.

Calling all Irish documentary filmmakers: Do you want to maximize the impact of your new film? Wondering how? The Impact Lab offers: expert-led workshops; a small group of participants; case-studies and a guided process for developing an impact strategy and action plan. Hurry! Deadline for this fantastic opportunity is looming! 

DEADLINE TO APPLY: THURSDAY 2 APRIL 2026

A new filmmaker training initiative on impact distribution, the programme features an in-person workshop in late April in Donegal, five online sessions, and workshop and live pitch at Docs Ireland in Belfast  17-20 June 2026.

Who Should Apply

  • Irish filmmakers with feature documentaries that have strong potential for impact.   
  • For projects in Development, Production, or Post-production 
  • Open to international co-productions where either the Director or the lead Producer is Irish.

Supported by Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland through the Screen Stakeholder Funding Scheme Presented in partnership with Docs Ireland.

 

DEADLINE: FRIDAY 10TH ARPIL, 5PM 

Don't miss out on this new opportunity. Lasair is a cross-border, project-led development incubator for high-quality short documentary films in the Irish language. Lasair is a programme for the development of high quality, story-driven short documentaries in the Irish language. The scheme is open to filmmakers at all career stages, from emerging to established talent, who will be supported through a curated training and development programme, and given an opportunity to pitch for production funding for their film.

DOCS IRELAND 2026 MARKETPLACE

DEADLINE: FRIDAY 17TH APRIL, 5PM

The Docs Ireland Marketplace 2026 is an invaluable opportunity for filmmakers to pitch their project through one-to-one meetings with leading international documentary industry decision makers, including international funders, broadcasters, distributors and exhibitors. 

Don’t miss your chance to apply. If you have a documentary project in development you have until Friday 17th April, 5pm to apply.

 

NORTHERN IRELAND SCREEN FEATURE DEVELOPMENT PITCH 2026

DEADLINE: FRIDAY 24TH APRIL, 5PM

Docs Ireland and Northern Ireland Screen, in association with Yellowmoon Post Production, are offering a chance for new and emerging documentary makers to receive an award of up to £9,000 towards a pilot for a documentary feature. 

If you would like to submit a proposal for consideration for the pitch, you must complete and submit an application, which can be found on our website. The pitch will take place as part of the Docs Ireland festival in June 2026.
