A couple of international opportunities have been shared with Belfast City Council culture team, which may be of interest to you or a colleague.

 

  1. Belfast Healthy Cities Explorer Bursary - closing date 30 June 2026
  1. NEMO – Northern European Mobility Opportunity 2026 - opening in August, closing 18 September

 

1. The Belfast Healthy Cities Explorer Bursary supports a visit to another city or region to explore innovative approaches to a key urban health challenge.  Individuals can apply for a bursary of up to £1500 for a short learning visit during September or October 2026.  Deadline for applications is 30 June.  Applications are welcomed from individuals or organisations based in Belfast, including:

  • Community and voluntary organisations  
  • Researchers and academics  
  • Public sector organisations  
  • Practitioners and professionals  
  • Social enterprises  
  • Partnerships or collaborative groups

2. NEMO – Northern European Mobility Opportunity 2026 is a programme for mobility and artistic exchange, led by the Nordic Culture Fund in partnership with the arts funding agencies of Ireland, England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.  The programme focuses on individual artists and arts practitioners in the early stages of their careers, with the aim of strengthening artistic exchange, collaboration and professional networks across the Nordic countries, the UK and Ireland.   

Eligibility criteria in summary:

  • You must be an emerging individual artist or arts practitioner resident in Ireland or UK and your collaborative partner (artist / practitioner / organisation) must be based in the Nordic countries: Denmark, The Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, or The Åland Islands.
  • You must be applying for a new partnership or collaboration, and you must have approached the person or organisation that you want to work with.

Applications open: 17 August – 18 September 2026 with activity to take place from end November 2026 til November 2027.
