Visit Ards and North Down 1 June 2023 Sea Bangor Festival returns to Bangor Seafront Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 June | 12noon - 6pm both days. Free to attend, there will be bucket-loads of seaside fun, from on-the-water displays, naval vessels, music and dance, to delicious food and drinks - come along and enjoy the holiday atmosphere!

Family Fun at Sea Bangor! Quay Street car park, located beside Eisenhower Pier, will take on a distinctly holiday atmosphere with the return of the Urban Beach, funfair rides and outside bar. Families can enjoy a seaside ‘rave’, and then relax before heading to the pier to either watch some great food demos, or the fantastic on-water activities, like e-foiling displays, kayaking and paddleboarding. Hop on board the free land train from the McKee Clock to Pickie Funpark throughout the weekend.   This year’s event sees the return of the popular rowing competition with local teams vying for the top prize. Organised by SERC students this event will take place from 12noon-2.30pm on Saturday 3 June.  Once you’ve soaked up all the fun, you can sit and relax along the pier where there are a range of hot food trucks, and even an outdoor summer bar!

Sea Bangor - on-the-water displays! Watch E-Foiling demo's at intervals during the festival E-Foiling uses an electric powered surfboard on a hydrofoil wing which lifts almost a metre out of the water, giving the participant a sense of flying on the water!

Artemis eFoiler® The 12M Artemis eFoiler® propelled multi-purpose workboat is the world's first high-speed 100% electric foiling commercial vessel. During the Sea Bangor weekend Artemis will be providing on the water demonstrations at 1.30pm and 3.30pm. See these demo's best from viewing spots along Eisenhower Pier. Find out more HMS Penzance Sea Bangor Festival will have a visit from the HMS Penzance, a Sandown-class vessel. As one of the Royal Navy’s minehunter vessels, HMS Penzance’s primary role is to neutralise underwater threats. Like all Sandown-class vessels, she is most effective in deeper waters, so she can often be found surveying shipping routes or clearing the way for military operations. Find out more

HMS Raider HMS Raider, a small patrol boat from Scotland, will be moored beside HMS Penzance. HMS Raider is one of two Archer-class patrol boats that form the Faslane Patrol Boat Squadron. Together with her sister ship, HMS Tracker, she provides reassurance and protection in and around HM Naval Base Clyde. Find out more

Catch a Glimpse of Visiting Vessels during Sea Bangor The Royal Navy vessels HMS PENZANCE and HMS RAIDER will be berthed at the Eisenhower Pier during Sea Bangor.  Tickets for tours of HMS PENZANCE on Saturday 3 June were advertised in advance and allocated on a first come first served basis. Due to popular demand these slots are now fully booked.  For operational reasons, HMS PENZANCE will not be open for tours on Sunday 4 June, and HMS RAIDER will depart Bangor on Sunday afternoon to resume her operational programme. There will however be personnel from the local Maritime Reserve unit, HMS HIBERNIA, on the pier during both days of the festival.

Getting to Sea Bangor By car | Do you plan to drive to the event? Allow plenty of time for your journey. If you are travelling by car follow directional road signs to Bangor City Centre, and check out what car parking is available in the city (free and charged). Panoramic Wheel, McKee Clock Arena Open daily, 12pm to 9pm From May | Charges apply The Panoramic Wheel is returning to McKee Clock Arena at Bangor Seafront this May until the beginning of September. Hop onboard for a spectacular view of Bangor town, the marina and beyond. Alongside the 'Big wheel' visitors can enjoy a selection of funfair attractions.

Please note Sea Bangor |Event Site | Useful information • Stay sun safe – we’re set for sunny weather, so please protect yourself with sun cream, hats and hydrate when at the event. Bring your refillable water bottles and use the water supply available at Eisenhower Pier. • Lost children – with large crowds anticipated please pick up a wristband for children at the Information caravan, situated at the entrance of the site. • Recycling – there will be two central locations to recycle your waste. One on Quay Street Car Park and the other on Eisenhower Pier. Please help us continue our sustainability commitment to zero contamination at events. Read more about Sustainability. • Accessibility - All flat surfaces on hard concrete. South Pier Toilets and portaloos onsite. Accessoloo will be in attendance both days. • Dogs are welcome – please keep all dogs on leads, there will be water bowls provided. • Photography and videography -  Photography and filming will take place during Sea Bangor. Images may be used in Ards and North Down promotional material.  If you plan to attend, but do not wish to have your image used, please inform a member of Council staff on arrival.  • For more information on safe alcohol consumption, visit the Drink Aware website Closures to allow for set up and take down of the event: - Quay Street Car Park will be closed from Tuesday 30 May, reopening on Wednesday 7 June. - Eisenhower pier is closed from Thursday 1 June until the start of the event on Saturday 3 June, 12noon. The pier will also be closed overnight on Saturday 1 June and Sunday 2 June between 6pm and 12 noon. Free to attend event. Charges apply to funfair rides and purchases from the bar,  food, and goods stalls. All events are subject to change.
