An improbable circus show from Galicia

LIFFORD -  Old Courthouse

MDR - Death from Laughter By Los Galindos is a farce to disturb and entertain. Melon, Mardi and Rossinyol face an unexpected conflict. Their untamed and clumsy nature and the need to exist take them to an improbable show, where they freely explore any atrocity. This hilarious and terrifying experience transmits the story of a truthful and rough friendship, caused by a sense of responsibility and of guilt. An improbable crime, a suspicious trial and an absurd punishment. As a paradox, they might cause the desire to die from laughter.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: THE PERFORMANCE WILL TAKE PLACE AT 7PM ON BOTH DAYS, NOT 3PM AS  ADVERTISED IN THE BROCHURE.

Inspiring theatre by Palestinian actor and comedian Alaa Shehada

LETTERKENNY - Regional Cultural Centre

THE GUARDIAN ★★★★★

Built from the debris of a major invasion, the Horse of Jenin sculpture became a constant presence in Alaa’s life growing up in Occupied Palestine. It stood proudly in the centre of the city for twenty years, symbolising hope and resistance.

Then, on the 30th  October 2023, an Israeli bulldozer entered the city, ripping the sculpture from its place .and from its people.

Now, Alaa is left wondering… What happened to the horse?

Psychedelic Welsh & Cornish pop and folk by Mercury Prize nominee Gwenno

Gwenno is a vital voice in modern music, bridging the gap between ancient heritage and avant-garde synth-pop. Born in Cardiff to Welsh and Cornish parents, her solo work, including the breakthrough Y Dydd Olaf and the Mercury-shortlisted Tresor, is a defiant, dreamlike celebration of minoritised languages.

Her live shows are immersive experiences, weaving together lush electronics, driving krautrock rhythms, and soaring vocals.

Do you want to be a Human Library Book at Earagail Arts Festival?

Earagail Arts Festival and Donegal County Council Library Service are inviting members of the public to participate in The Human Library®

The Human Library® is, in the true sense of the word, a library of people. The organisation hosts events all over the world where readers can borrow human beings serving as open books and have conversations they would not normally have access to. On Thursday 16th July it will be held at Central Library, Letterkenny from 1pm.

Every human book from The Human Library® bookshelf represents a group in our society that is often subjected to prejudice, stigmatization or discrimination because of their lifestyle, diagnosis, belief, disability, social status, ethnic origin, etc.

The Human Library® creates a safe space for dialogue where topics are discussed openly between human books and their readers, a place where difficult questions are expected, appreciated and answered.

If you have a story to tell and wish to become a book please contact Sharon McMenamin at outr...@eaf.ie
