Pub Poetry Spring Event - Budding (Tomorrow Evening, Friday 20th Feb)

Spring has returned. The Earth is like a child that knows poems.  Rainer Maria Rilke      Dear Pub Poets, Just a reminder that we are ready to welcome you to a very special evening tomorrow as we mark our Spring event, at Kiwis Brew Bar,  Portrush, 7:30pm.      Guest Poet - Cat Brogan We are so very delighted to welcome Cat Brogan to the stage as our guest poet, Cat is a poet and spoken word artist from Omagh, based in the North West. She is the 2024 Ulster Poetry Slam Champion, a BBC Edinburgh Fringe Slam Champion, and represented Dublin at UNESCO’s Slamovision 2025.  Her poetry has been published in Local Wonders (Dedalus Press), Skylight 47, Ragaire, and The Martello Journal.   Our theme for the evening is 'Budding' and after Cat performs for us we will welcome a group of brilliantly talented new poets and regular poets who will share their considerations of what 'Budding' means to them.   Also! on top of all of that, David Atkinson will be sharing more details on our Pub Poetry competition, and our intention to open up the online sessions again (we'll send a follow up email about all of that  after the event to keep our pub poet friends and poets on far shores updated).    We hope you can join us on this very early spring evening, we're looking forward to celebrating the daily returning of the light with you all.    The Pub Poetry Team x
