Hi Stu,

Did you know that before finding fame, Eddi Reader was a vocalist for Romanian composer Vladimir Cosma? But it was Fairground Attraction's debut single Perfect that propelled her to stardom. From humble beginnings in poverty-stricken Glasgow, Reader has forged a formidable career in the music industry both with Fairground Attraction and as an accomplished solo artist.

Over the following three and a half decades, Reader has turned her hand to many genres but it's in folk and traditional music that she really seems to shine. Her interpretations of the works of poet Robert Burns focus on enduring themes of love, equality, mortality, and the struggles of common people. With the Alan Kelly Gang, she has found friends and collaborators who will thrill audiences and take the traditional Celtic sounds of Scotland and Ireland to stages around the world.
