Spring has arrived in Naul, and with it a fresh burst of music, creativity, film, and community spirit here at TSEAC. April brings a wonderful mix of events to our unique little stage, from world‑class traditional musicians and captivating guest singers to inspiring workshops for young creatives and the return of our much‑loved gatherings. Whether you’re joining us for a candlelit singing session, diving into the energy of our DJ Camp, settling into a beautifully crafted film, or experiencing the artistry of The Pure Drop series, this month offers plenty of reasons to step out, connect, and celebrate the arts together. We can’t wait to welcome you through our doors this spring.

HOLY COW
Film & Meal Deal Available
Thursday 9th April | 20:00
Our April film is the award‑winning French drama Holy Cow, winner of the Youth Award at Cannes, Un Certain Regard 2024. Directed by Louise Courvoisier, this beautifully observed coming‑of‑age story follows 18‑year‑old Totone, whose carefree days in the Jura region come to an abrupt end when he must care for his young sister and find a way to support them both. His unlikely solution (entering the highly competitive world of Comté cheese production) leads to a heartfelt, humorous, and moving journey toward responsibility and identity.

Music Generation Fingal DJ Camp
Tuesday 7th April | 10:00 – 14:00
Music Generation Fingal return to TSEAC this Easter with a dynamic 4‑day DJ Camp designed for young people aged 13–18 who want to explore the world of DJ’ing and electronic music in a hands‑on, supportive environment. Running from Tuesday 7th to Friday 10th April (10am–2pm each day), this immersive programme covers everything from DJ history, foundational mixing skills, and genre appreciation to beat‑making, production techniques, and performance preparation. Over the four days, participants will build confidence, create original beats, and work towards a short showcase set, all with full equipment and guidance provided. A brilliant opportunity for creative teens who love music and want to learn new skills over the Easter break.

The Pure Drop Traditional Irish Music Series
Ft. Special Guests: Pádraig Rynne and Mícheál Ó Raghallaigh

TSEAC is delighted to present an exceptional evening of music as part of The Pure Drop – Traditional Irish Music Series, featuring renowned concertina players Pádraig Rynne and Mícheál Ó Raghallaigh. Clare native Pádraig Rynne is known for his adventurous, genre‑blending approach, bringing jazz, electronic, and world influences into traditional music through acclaimed projects such as NOTIFY, Guidewires, and Cian. From County Meath, Mícheál Ó Raghallaigh offers a refined, soulful style shaped by a lifetime of performance, recording, and teaching, with standout work from Providence, the Táin Céilí Band, and the Irish Concertina Ensemble.
Together, they create a powerful, intimate duet grounded in deep tradition yet open to exploration and shared musical imagination. This performance promises a captivating night for lovers of Irish music at its most skilful and expressive.

TSEAC Singing Sessions
Ft. Special Guest: Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh
Thursday 16th April | 19:00
Join us for our monthly TSEAC Singing Session, a relaxed and inclusive celebration of song led by Fergus Cahillane (Faró). This informal gathering welcomes singers of all levels to share songs in a warm, supportive environment, with both on‑site and online participants encouraged to take part. We’re delighted to feature Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh as this month’s special guest. A native of Dún Chaoin and a native Irish speaker, Muireann grew up immersed in the sean‑nós tradition before spending thirteen years as lead singer and flute player with the renowned group Danú. Her acclaimed solo and collaborative work continues to carry Irish‑language song into the present day with beauty, clarity, and contemporary relevance.
Listeners are warmly invited to enjoy refreshments from The Cottage Café while soaking in the music in our atmospheric, candlelit theatre, or join us from home as we stream the session live. As always, performers and listeners are equally welcome.

Traditional Irish Music Slow Session with Paudie O’Connor

Join us for our regular Slow Session with Paudie O’Connor, a much‑loved gathering designed especially for adult learners and musicians who enjoy playing Irish tunes at a gentle, steady pace. Each month, Paudie hosts the session live from TSEAC, while participants from near and far also join online via Zoom, creating a warm and inclusive musical community. Along with playing through the standard session tunes, Paudie will teach a new tune each time, offering a relaxed space to build skills and confidence.

Steve Knightly
Saturday 18th April | 20:00
TSEAC is honoured to welcome the internationally acclaimed singer‑songwriter Steve Knightley, a defining figure in contemporary Folk, Acoustic and Roots music. Best known as a founding member of Show of Hands, Knightley’s work draws deeply from his connection to place (particularly the West Country) and blends English folk influences with the storytelling traditions of Bob Dylan and the poetic lyricism of Ted Hughes. His acclaimed recent albums The Winter Yards and Positively Folk Street highlight his ongoing creative evolution, while songs like Country Life, Arrogance, Ignorance and Greed, and The Galway Farmer have cemented his standing as a writer of rare insight, empathy, and social awareness.
This performance offers a chance to experience one of the folk world’s most vital voices in an intimate setting, a night of storytelling, musicianship, and songs that resonate long after they’re sung.

A spanking new solo comedy show bursting with razor sharp impressions, sketches and absurd imaginings from the co-creator of Après Match. Cooper’s first live solo show takes on the heady subjects of the world around us now, then, and in the future, and draws no obvious conclusions! Covering topics like what’s happening? Why is it happening? Where did it all go wrong? And who cares? Featuring skits from the world of TV, “Journalism”, Politics, The Arts, Entertainment and Sport. Expect a dizzying mix of various personalities in this unmissable show.
