ABOUT THE PRIZE
- Twelve prizes in total – one overall prize of €6,000, 3 prizes of €1,000 for each of the other shortlisted poets and a further 8 prizes of €250 for commended poems
- Anyone aged 16 or over, from anywhere in the world, can enter the competition
- The poem can be on any subject, but must be unpublished
- No line limit
- Entry fee of €16 per poem
- You can enter as many poems as you like
- This year's judge is Ishion Hutchinson
- Poems are judged anonymously
- Closing date is 31 December (midnight your time, wherever you are)
- Shortlist (of 4) will be announced in March 2026
- Shortlisted poems will be published in the Irish Times online
