Less than a week remaining to enter this year's Moth Poetry Prize


PRIZES

1st prize €6,000 
3 runner-up prizes of €1,000 
8 commended prizes of €250



ABOUT THE PRIZE
  • Twelve prizes in total – one overall prize of €6,000, 3 prizes of €1,000 for each of the other shortlisted poets and a further 8 prizes of €250 for commended poems
  • Anyone aged 16 or over, from anywhere in the world, can enter the competition
  • The poem can be on any subject, but must be unpublished
  • No line limit
  • Entry fee of €16 per poem
  • You can enter as many poems as you like
  • This year's judge is Ishion Hutchinson
  • Poems are judged anonymously
  • Closing date is 31 December (midnight your time, wherever you are)
  • Shortlist (of 4) will be announced in March 2026
  • Shortlisted poems will be published in the Irish Times online
