We can't wait to welcome you to our building for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann!
As the Irish Language Hub, and one of the festival’s core venues you'll be able to enjoy a packed programme with us throughout the week. Here's a glance at what's coming up:
|
Expect solo artists, duos and full bands bringing a wide range of sounds to the MAC – from folk and traditional songs to contemporary instrumental music and alt-pop/rock. Whatever your Fleadh vibe, we've got you covered.
Expect performances from Kate Nash, Notify with Séamus & Caoimhe, ACGE – An Chéad Ghlúin Eile and The Half Room. |
There's lots to get involved in with interactive workshops and activities for all ages and levels of Irish. Take part in yoga, join our daily Cupán agus Comhrá sessions and discover plenty of ways to connect, learn and enjoy the festival.
Whether you're a family looking for fun activities to do together, a non-Irish speaker curious to learn more, someone learning Irish or a fluent speaker, there's something for everyone to get involved in. |
All-Ireland competitions are at the heart of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, with more than 180 categories taking place across the city. From ballad singing and storytelling to button accordion and many more, you can experience some of the talent, tradition and excitement of the competitions with us. |
We'll have two new exhibitions for you to enjoy open during the Fleadh; Susan Hughes: A Feeling in the Blood | Tall Gallery This exhibition will feature a display of loaned objects from members of the public, which have a history relating to a personal experience of Irish trad over the years. Additionally there will be ad-hoc performances by visiting musicians to the Fleadh, as well as programmed performances throughout the exhibition. Mary McIntyre & Robert Anderson: Reconstructions: A Room for Mike Kelley | Upper & Sunken Gallery
This exhibition is a series of collaborative works made in response to live performances by the late artist Mike Kelley (1954 –2012). Featured are meticulous reconstructions of the studio environments, props, and objects found in Kelley's performance documentations. |
On top of all of that we'll be having daily trad sessions starting from 4pm, two outdoor bars, a lot of grab and go food options, and as always the playroom will be open for families.
Our city and building are going to be full of music, culture and celebration - we hope to see you join the fun! |
