| Exhibitions, Tours & more this January
We are excited to begin another year with lots of new exhibitions and events to share with you throughout 2026.
This January take time to explore your National Collection in the exhibition Art As Agency. Interweaving historical and contemporary narratives this exhibition showcases the possibilities of art in shaping our understanding of and action in the world. Also on show is Reverse Migration, a Poetic Journey by renowned Chilean artist, poet, and activist Cecilia Vicuna. Presenting new works this exhibition is inspired by her visit to Ireland in 2006. Central to the exhibition is her site specific quipu, this beautiful new artwork, seen above, was created with local makers and is a reference to the design of Aran sweaters. January is the perfect time to take a Slow Art Tour, these tours offer you a chance to pause, spend time with individual artworks, and explore new ways of seeing. For new parents a great way to get out on a cold winter day is to join our Parent & Baby Hour at IMMA, booking is advised but walk-in’s are welcome.
For arts and health professionals IMMA Horizons will hold a professional practice event, called Marie Brett, Yes, But Do you Care? Exploring Aesthetics, Attention and Ethical Arts Engagement, on 12 Feb, for more details email Hori...@imma.ie.

We wish you a Happy New Year and we look forward to welcoming you to IMMA in 2026. |
