This Saturday, Georgetown's full-blown art festival Artopia will be taking place from noon to 10pm. There will be music, performances, power tool drag races 2d and 3d art. This is a family-friendly event, with portions of Georgetown being transformed into a (literally) grassy playground.
Thomas Park will be displaying selections of industrial photography from Blick zum Objekt in the SnoPac theatre (enter on S. Bailey St.). For more information, check out this week's Seattle Weekly or http://www.artopiaseattle.com
Note that Studio Brick will be closed for Art Walk on July 3. But please join me for an opening in Pioneer Sq's 619 Western building!
Thursday, July 3 - Blick zum Objekt
@ Mnemonic Gallery 619 Western, 4th floor
This is the first of
two openings of the full body of work by
Thomas Park entitled Blick zum Objekt, "Industry
as sacred space".
This series addresses the vast, forgotten
engines of commerce and industry in the context of cathedrals, monuments to
forgotten and abandoned gods.
Special thanks to The Seattle Sinner, Poco Wine Room, and Sake Nomi for their support of this show! Please be sure to check out June and July's issues of the Sinner for ads featuring Blick zum Objekt.
Thursday, July 10 - A Sense of Place @ Tougo Coffee
This is a show featuring iconic photography from locales around the
world. Work by several Seattle photographers will be featured in the
show, including Brick members Matt Freedman and Thomas Park.
