Studio Brick
April 2009 #1

Dear friends,

Alas, Brick will be closed again for Art Walk on Thursday, May 7.

But never fear!  It's for good cause.  Our exhibiting members have been busy preparing for another exciting art event in early May.

Seattle Erotic Art Festival

Thursday - Saturday, May 1 - 3

This year's SEAF will once again be at the Seattle Centre Exhibition Hall, downstairs from the Seattle Ballet.  This year, the Festival will be prominently featuring La Figa: Visions of Food and Form (http://lafigaproject.com), a collaboration between Studio Brick's Matt Freedman and chef Tibero Simone.

Highlights of La Figa at SEAF will include:

•  Nightly live performances, where Tiberio will create over a dozen new compositions with live models and edible ingredients.

•  24 feet of wallspace to hold large format prints of some of our favorite pieces, curated with the kind assistance of Marita from Seattle's Benham Gallery

•  Two video screens featuring ongoing slideshows of more La Figa images, including behind the scenes "making of" shots.

•  Some very special chocolate treats for everybody, hand-made by Tiberio, and served by our lovely and talented crew of volunteers.

•  A selection of smaller prints for sale in the festival store.

I sincerely congratulate Matt and Tibero on his prominent feature in the festival, and hope to see many of you at this year's festival.  The jury included owners and directors of major Seattle galleries, and I am proud to also be presenting art in the festival!

The festival runs Thursday - Saturday, although Thursday is only open to those purchasing a special "Velvet Package".  Friday and Saturday will be featuring an after-hours party hosted by some wonderful West-coast DJ's.

Information on the festival, costume ideas and more can be found at http://www.seattleerotic.org.  We look forward to seeing you there.

Best regards,

Thomas Park

Events at Studio Brick
August 2010

Dear friends,

Studio Brick opens its doors again for this month's Pioneer Sq's 1st Thursday Art Walk!  I will be showing images and banners from MU, a collaboration between myself and master calligrapher Eri Takase (http://www.takase.com).  MU was a project installed in the open desert at Burning Man 2009; a series of tall banners painted with Japanese calligraphy.

Quick note - free parking is available for Art Walk!

If you wanted to come to Art Walk but hate dealing with Pioneer Sq parking, Merrill Place Garage (76 S King Street) will provide free parking for people visiting the neighborhood for the Art Walk.  To take advantage of this offer, drivers will need to show garage attendants either a proof of purchase from a Pioneer Square business or a business card from a participating gallery.  Free parking is valid from 5 - 10pm.

Hope to see you there!
