LSSU: What is the student activities fee at your university? Describe
your student life office.

OU: We have a "SAFAC" (sp?) fee. The fee per student per semester is
$25.
EMU: Campus Life (student org) has a programming fee that handles
student organizations funding. They have about a $500,000 budget.
Unsure of what the Student Activities fee is exactly.
MSU: Parliamentary government - administrative officers for our
Student Government. The ASMSU "tax" is $18 per semester per student.
That is our Student Activities fee. MSU has a yearbook that is
provided to each student. Readership program is also funded by the
tax (NY Times, Financial Times, Detroit Free Press, USA Today). Exam
books and blue books are offered.
UMD: Student Activities fee are $36 per student per semester. 61%
goes to Student Activities office and then 39% to Athletics. There
are 8 organizations (USOs - University Sponsored Organizations) that
get a "chunk" and other student orgs (RSOs - Registered Student
Organizations) get to use up to $2,500 per year.
MTU: Student Activities fee is $50 per student per semester. Half is
used by Student Government and the half is given out to other Student
Organizations.
LSSU: Our Student Government is one of seven orgs that gets funded by
the University. The fee is $55 per student per semester.
