Many Universities are not held accountable. If one cannot get a job in
the field one has received a degree in - who is to blame?

My solution is that every degree needs a registered student
organization that tracks graduates into the work force and beyond. It
should remain the burden of students to counter the University.

Imagine 30 students getting their Gameboy degree. Once they graduate,
and either go into the work force or graduate schools (these students
should be tracked beyond graduate school as well when they enter the
work force) that the new students throughout the years track their
success. Future students can then see empirical evidence of the jobs
and skills they will have after receiving the Gameboy degree. Should
this fall below a certain level, or should the student not like his or
her odds after seeing the stats; only then can they make a well formed
decision. This might even signal schools to end programs that are no
longer viable.

The students should never rely on the University to track this
information.

Would any of you be willing to start these RSO's on your campuses, or
ask your RSO's to start tracking?

Please discuss,
Andrew
