SHR & C-STAHR Journal Club Event (March 23)

Hello SHR-ers!!

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Ani Reddy (MSIV) and I serve as the student director for C-STAHR (Community-Students Together Against Healthcare Racism).

I'm excited to announce that C-STAHR is collaborating with SHR to host a journal club to discuss implicit bias and discrimination in healthcare. In addition to the journal discussion, we will have our C-STAHR community members in attendance to discuss their own experiences of racism in healthcare. This has been a fun event in the past and we're thrilled to help host it once again!

What?  Journal Club hosted by C-STAHR and SHR to discuss topics of implicit bias and discrimination in healthcare. Like all SHR events, this is a potluck event.

Who?  Anyone interested! (SHR members, students, faculty, community members, etc.)

When?  March 23, 2016, 6:00 - 8:00pm

Where?  Ani and Abby’s House (12926 E. Parklane Dr., Aurora, CO)

What do I do before the event? We'll be discussing the attached article on bias as well as this cool article from the ACP Hospitalist.  We also encourage you to examine your own biases by taking the Harvard IAT (link to the IAT portal)
