Hi all –

Joe sent out the e-mail below a few days ago but hasn’t heard if anyone is interested in going on the hike…please shoot either me or Joe an e-mail by Friday if you are planning to come so that we can work out a time / carpooling / etc.  If we don’t have a lot of interest, we may have to reschedule for 2014.  (And, given the last few days, we should probably check on snow conditions up there now!)

Also – could someone please put a note about this on the Facebook page (and ask those interested to contact either Joe or myself)?

Thanks!

Dr. Huff

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the food and good times at the potluck yesterday. Just a heads up, we are still planning a day hiking trip to conclude this great semester. Since we have no word on weather/travel conditions for the "Bridge to Nowhere", Dr. Huff and I have discussed and chosen to take the hike at the "Cougar Crest Trial" near the Big Bear Discovery Center at Fawnskin, CA. I was up there a couple of weeks ago and the conditions were fine. A little snowy but manageable. Cold weather clothing and good hiking/walking shoes are advised. The hike will be on December 15.  The day we agreed to take the "bridge to nowhere" hike during the November 21 SSC meeting. No word on official time due to schedules and the possibility of carpool requests.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me via phone at 951.529.0825 or email at @epared...@gmail.com

Cheers,

Joe Paredes

The roads are clear, no chains required. Sunny all week; 61 and sunny on Sunday. Looks like 11am is when the temperature begins to peak and 4pm is when it starts dropping.

I'm in! -Preston

It's totally fine Clarice. We're actually postponing the hike for after the holidays. So hopefully we can get more people available around then.
