My Letter to Jim Cooper

Dear Mr. Cooper,

I would ask that you look into restoring standard conumser protections
against student loans. As it is, we (Borrowers)have no protections
that are afforded the rest of society. We are being harrassed at
work, home, etc . Many are moving out of the country and those of us
that are defaulted (not me), cannot live normal lives because Sallie
Mae etc are allowed to garnish too much of our wages and often apply
outrageous fees for late and non payment to the account. This is not
helping the economy because these consumers are in such debt that they
cannot consume, nor have families. If a person is willing to pay the
price, I believe they should be allowed to file bankruptcy like the
rest of society.
