My wife has a student loan and has become disabled and cannot work.
This loan was obtained prior to our marriage. For several years she
was granted a forebearance. Once we convinced them that she was
completely disabled they sent us paperwork for loan forgiveness. We
had the physician complete this paperwork twice, we had to pay for
this, and returned it to ACS. We are still receiving threatening
letters of collection and collection phone calls. For over a year now
they have not given us an answer about the request for forgiveness. I
guess they really believe that they can get blood from a turnip.
