https://twitter.com/Supercomputing will retweet things during the competition.  You'll likely meet the folks who run that Twitter account in person as you're setting up -- in past years they've been excited to retweet things straight from the teams there, and they'd complained that not nearly enough teams were tweeting to them!

Also, definitely tell your schools to follow http://www.studentclustercomp.com/ -- this is our reporter Dan Olds's web site and he will have up to the minute information and video there.
