Reader's service this Sunday

Dear Friends,

This Sunday, Forgiveness Sunday, is the eve of Great Lent. I am unable to be with you but I am happy to inform you that there will be a Reader's service in Ampfield at 10:00 am. We used to do this many years ago and it does provide an opportunity to come together to pray even when there is no priest. I encourage you to attend. 

The service will be Typika (обедница). It is basically the prayers, hymns and readings used at the Liturgy without the parts that can be performed only by a priest. 

Allow me t o remind you that we do have an important tradition of asking forgiveness from those around us before we begin Lent. In particular, let's take the opportunity to put an end to any lingering resentments so that our prayer may be acceptable before God. Forgive me, a sinner!
