Further to my previous messages about our pilgrimage to the
Church of St Boniface on the Isle of Wight, here are the full details.
Transport:
We will do it by car sharing like last year.
If you can offer places, or if you need a place, please post in the WhatsApp group. It's understood that passengers will share the cost of the ferry and petrol with the driver.
The timetable:
We suggest to get the 09:00 ferry from Southampton Red Funnel terminal (arrive between 08:15 and 08:30 - location:
https://w3w.co/drew.boring.fuels) . This should arrive in East Cowes around 10:00. It is about a 45 min drive to Bonchurch. See below for the location.
(As it is the beginning of the school holidays , the ferries will be filling up, so it's worth booking in good time).
11:00 Hours and confessions
11:30 Divine Liturgy
13:00 Clear up
14:00 Picnic on the beach, weather permitting.
15:45 Depart (or not, if you want more time on the Island)
18:30 arrive Southampton
The address is:
St Boniface Old Church,Bonchurch Village Rd, Ventnor PO38 1RQ
PLEASE NOTE: The church is at the end of a narrow road and there is
no parking. We suggest you drop off passengers at the junction (location:
https://w3w.co/obstruction.gratuity.bumping) from where it is a short walk to the church. You can park at Shore Road Car Park (location:
https://w3w.co/speeds.master.perfumed) and walk to the church by Shore Rd, a lane off to the left and a footpath. See map below.
