STS-dagarna är den svenska mötesplatsen för Science & Technology Studies i Sverige. Syftet med STS-dagarna är att skapa en mötesplats för forskare som är intresserade av frågor som rör teknik och vetenskap i samhället. Konferensen riktar sig särskilt till doktorander och unga forskare.
På förmiddagen den 4:e maj kommer vi att arrangera en doktorandworkshop med temat: Metod och teori inom STS. Vilka metoder och teorier använder vi inom STS-fältet? Vilka problem stöter vi på i våra doktorandprojekt, gällande teori och metod? Hur handskas andra forskare med liknande svårigheter?
Under första delen av workshopen kommer vi doktorander att dela med oss av våra metodologiska och teoretiska erfarenheter med varandra och lyfta svårigheter vi stöter på. Under andra delen av workshopen medverkar en panel av erfarna forskare inom STS med en bakgrund inom olika metoder och teorier. Panelen kommer att ge oss konstruktiv respons på frågor som uppstår i den första delen av workshopen.
För att göra det bästa av denna workshop behöver vi just dina synpunkter som doktorand. Därför ber vi dig som önskar delta i workshopen att skicka in en kort text till oss där du beskriver vilka teorier och/eller metoder du jobbar med i ditt avhandlingsprojekt, vilka problem du stöter på eller vilka andra teorier eller metoder du önskar diskutera. Genom att du skickar in denna text är du automatiskt registrerad för workshopen. Dessa texter kommer även att ligga till grund för vilka forskare som bjuds in till panelen under andra delen av workshopen. Max 200 ord.

Welcome to the workshop for doctoral students at Swedish
STS conference 2022: 4 May in Gothenburg
The STS conference is the meeting place for Science & Technology Studies in Sweden. The purpose of the STS conference is to create a meeting place for researchers who are interested in issues related to technology and science in society. The conference is especially aimed at doctoral students and early stage researchers.
We are arranging a workshop for doctoral students in the morning of 4th of May. The topic is Methods and Theories within STS. Which methods and theories do we use within the field of STS? What kind of problems regarding methods and theories have we experienced in our doctoral projects? How are other researchers dealing with similar issues?
The first part of the workshop is dedicated to a discussion among doctoral students. We will share our experiences regarding methods and theories in our projects and the issues we have faced. During the second part of the workshop, our questions will be addressed by a panel of STS researchers with rich experiences from a variety of methods and theories.
In order to make the best out of this workshop, we need your input as a doctoral student. If you would like to participate in the workshop, we would like you to contribute with a short description of which methods and/or theories you work with in your doctoral project, which problems you have faced or what other methods, or theories, you would like to discuss. You will be automatically registered to the workshop by sending in the description. Your contributions will be at the basis for creation of the panel for the second part of the workshop. Max 200 words.
