University College Dublin (UCD) invites applications for the inaugural Academic Director of the UCD AI Institute, held concurrently with a Full Professorship in Artificial Intelligence.
UCD is Ireland's leading university in AI, with nearly 200 academics and researchers working across 28 Schools and more than €65 million in AI research funding secured over the past five years. The newly established UCD AI Institute will serve as a hub to connect and amplify this activity, fostering collaboration across disciplines and providing a gateway for public and private sector partners.
The Academic Director will provide transformative leadership to the Institute, shaping its research culture, curriculum innovation, and national and international funding strategy. Candidates from any disciplinary perspective are welcome, provided they bring a distinguished record in AI research and teaching and demonstrable experience leading large-scale, cross-disciplinary initiatives.
