Dear colleagues,

What does it feel to work creatively with generative AI tools? This question is in focus at a panel that I will chair at the upcoming EASST 2026 conference. It is about the friction, irritation, joy, and ambivalence in GenAI use as an embodied practice.

I hope to gather researchers who are interested in how creative professionals embody and engage AI-transformed work. Creative professionals is understood in an inclusive manner and can include a number of different professions and practices. We welcome both theoretical and empirically focused contributions.

Panel title: In my head, in my hands: Embodied encounters with generative AI in creative work.
Short abstract:
How do creative professionals embody AI-transformed work? Beyond adoption/resistance binaries, this panel examines friction, irritation, joy, and ambivalence in GenAI use, revealing how resilient professional futures are constructed, not just imagined, through affectively charged, embodied practice.
