On January, Texas Instruments released a small 0.3" DLP based pico
projector system that could facilitate the development of structure
light algorithms. You can find more information here: http://www.ti.com/dlplightcrafter.
It retails for $599.

I have been playing with this system and would like to find USB-
cameras that support high speed capture (>60fps), trigger input, and
1.3Mpixel or greater resolution. Do you all have any recommendations?

While it won't do 60fps+ at 1.3mp, Elphel ( http://www3.elphel.com) makes a camera (hardware and software covered by the GNU GPL) that can do 30fps at that resolution, or 126fps at 640x480.  They are pretty expensive, but you can't beat the feature set.

GPL drivers sounds like a nightmare.  LGPL for software side maybe? Or another level of abstraction to isolate GPL license from your own code somehow?

actually gpl drivers are not a problem, all drivers in linux are gpl and
that's not a problem to release closed source software. is actually a
good model since it protects the investment in both hardware and
software and makes sure that any modifications to it remain open source.

not sure but i think those cameras are the ones google uses for the
street view cars?
