ofxEasyCam::place() replacement

Is there an equivalent for 'ofxEasyCam::place()' in the 'ofEasyCam' of OF008 release?

I think ofxEasyCam is a bit different from ofEasyCam
initially try to get the addon ofxEasyCam from here:
https://code.google.com/p/ofx3dutils/

if it doesn't work on 008 let see another solution
