Hi Eric,

If you are asking whether Structure supports multi-threaded environment when running on a HPC cluster, the answer is no, not yet.  The back-end version is particularly useful when running the program remotely on a computing cluster through commandline interface.  However, the back-end version does not have a built-in ability to execute multiple iterations of multiple K's simultaneously, so they have to be set up manually one by one.  There is a python script that tackles this problem.  Google 'Strauto v0.3.1' for the script.

If I misunderstood your question, please feel free to elaborate.

Does anyone have experience with running Structure in a high performance computing environment? The front end, 2.3.4, dosen't seem to run well in a linux. I am also looking at the non front end version.

I have researchers that like the functionality of the front end. So, is any one using the front end and then using the non front end version for further analysis etc?

Thanks,

Eric

Greetings -- A person using our HPC cluster would like Structure installed. I find documentation (http://web.stanford.edu/group/pritchardlab/structure_software/release_versions/v2.3.4/html/structure.html)

Can anyone comment on their use of HPC in a cluster environment? I am interested in whether there has been development on multi-threaded use.

Relatedly, is Structure considered final at v2.3.4? Is there development work taking place outside the originating group?

Thank you,
~ Em

Hi Em,

Take a look at http://strauto.popgen.org.  We have also recently updated the user manual (link on the website) for use on HPC clusters.  See section #8 of the manual.  If any questions remain, you can post them here.
