It is possible that the package did not download properly or the dmg was corrupt somehow.  Have you tried downloading and installing again?  Also, what OSX version are you using?

HI!

I just downloaded the latest version of Structure for Mac OS, version 2.3.4, but ran in the following problem when launching the program after installation: I get the following message from the system: ""Structure" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the trash." And it does not let me run the program.

Any idea what is going on?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks for your reply. I tried to download the package three times, with the same result. The problem seems however to be specific to mountain lion (10.8.2). I was able to download and run the program on another computer running 10.6 (Snow leopard).

That's disappointing to hear about problems with mountain lion. Of course you can always use the command line version.

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I had the same problem in 2 new computers running mountain lion... I
am a newbie in OS X so I was thinking I might be doing something
wrong.
Do you know if this problem is already being addressed by the authors?
And do you know any turn around? (e.g. is there a way to run an
application in OS X similarly to the "compatibility mode" in Windows?)

Best,
Rui

Hi Patrick and Vikram

I reported the situation to Páll, who was very prompt and effective in
solving our problem. It worked for me.
Here is his answer:

"Hi Rui
I don't have mountain lion yet, but my guess is that it has to do with
security and gatekeeper. The structure application is not signed, so
the default setting is to disallow running it and it is then reported
as "damaged". You can turn this off by allowing the os to run any
program you have downloaded. I haven't looked into what we would need
to do to get Structure properly signed, but I don't think it will
happens soon.
Let me know if this works.
Best regards,
Pall"

Thanks to Páll and the group!
Best,
Rui
