I need to be able to embed URLs (for links and for bookmarks) that will open structure to a specific place in the hierarchy.
Although I cannot find any documentation on this, I've discovered that I can do http://...jira.../secure/StructureBoard.jspa?q=filter:21164 and the query field is preloaded with the defined query. However this does not force the structure view to actually filter, so the user may need to click the filter button.

Is there any way to force filter on via URL?
Is there any documentation on this or other arguments available via URL?

Thanks,

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for but....
We have created custom fields that are hyperlinks.  They can be selected from within Structure, and when a user clicks on them, it takes them to the hyperlink.
For example, we created a custom field called client profile.
It is a pick list with hyperlinks to individual pages for each client profile (these pages are within jira, but they are a hyperlink nonetheless).
When setting up the custom field pick list, you have to have the URL address.
Then when a user is in Structure, they choose to view the "client profile" field as one of their columns.
Now, when a client profile has been chosen, the field is actually a hyperlink that is actionable from the Structure view.
Does that make sense?
Does it help?

Hi, sorry for not replying earlier - somehow we've missed this post. The related issue record is https://jira.almworks.com/browse/HJ-831 - it is planned for a future version. Unfortunately there's no way to force filter on, and without filter button, the non-matching issues are just greyed out.

If it helps, you can use a dashboard gadget called Structure, which allows to select a structure and a filter.

Kind regards,
Igor
