Hello future readers,

As the first message to the list, this is also the first announcement. We soft-launched StructD and Redis Commercial Support yesterday, just in time for a local CTO Mixers, which is only important in that now when hosting is ready, folks can contact our support personnel.

Announcements / Musings
  • Aside from some last-minute shenanigans with Amazon Cognito today (which we use for our login management), and Twilio integration yesterday, things seem to be going well with our site release. Still rough around the edges, but it will be improving daily as we smooth them out; it's only ~2 weeks old, to be fair.
  • We've managed to eliminate 99.8% of snapshot memory overhead during query processing, and Dr. Josiah Carlson will be speaking at SCALE 17x on March 10...
  • Same talk as ^^^ has been submitted to Redisconf 2019, we'll see if
  • We have reduced the time it takes to create snapshots by 25-65%
  • We have reduced the time it takes to load snapshots by 20-75%
  • We have dedicated ourselves to minimizing the SSL overhead, seeing 80-97% reduced overhead compared to a separate + native daemon
  • We have cut cold replica startup time by 50-70%
  • We have some improved Lua Scripting semantics; I will be posting docs on this in the next few days. Or you can check structd.com to see the short blurb
  • 2D custom Figlet font done, but waiting for 3D variant to be finished for release
I hope that despite an otherwise effed-up January 2019 (given the state of the US, US Government Shutdown, UK, ...), that everyone is still managing to get by, and hopefully do well.

Dr. Josiah Carlson, Ph.D.
CEO / CTO / Founder StructD.com
