I think it's time to pass on the reins for libstrophe and Strophe.js.
If you're interested in the job, please let me know.

I've been less active than I wanted to be for the last few years, and
that trend looks like it will continue. I've already begun giving
anyone whose pull request lands commit access to the repository to
help spread the burden, but I think that it makes sense to formally
hand off the projects to someone.

Years ago I handed off maintenance of Icecast in a similar manner, and
a decade later, that project is still going. I have high hopes the
same will happen here.

I've registered the strophe organization on GitHub, and I will
transition all the repositories there (they should be there anyway).

jack.

Just wanted to say, thanks! Though Strophe.js wasn't the first
Javascript XMPP library, it certainly changed the way most of us
viewed XMPP in the browser, and it has inspired countless projects
since then.

And as for libstrophe, it is still the only C XMPP library I have ever
managed to get working :)

Looking forward to an active future for both projects.

Regards,
Matthew

I just wanted to say that I'm too looking for a maintainer for
node-xmpp. It's JavaScript as well but client- and server-side.

Cheers,
Astro
