Happy New Year everyone!
We hope you've all had a pleasant and relaxing holiday break! We are going to do something a little different to kick off the new year.... instead of the typical gathering in a library conference room, we are going to do a more informal get together at Pierogi Mountain downtown this coming Wednesday, January 8th, at 6:30pm. Stop by for a quick bite (& beer if you so choose) and lets talk about what we can do in Columbus - today - to improve things from the bottom up.
A few topics/roles we think could use some activism are listed below. If you have an interest in any of these - or would like to pursue something not on the list - please do not hesitate to reach out! We can discuss at the meetup, or if you are unable to make it, you can respond in the Google Group / email / Slack and we will find a time to chat. There is no contribution too small, and we can say from experience that even the "lead" roles are not nearly as demanding as they might seem.
-
Startup of a Columbus Crash Analysis Studio (lead role - STC leadership will assist any volunteers with getting this started)
- Building benches for bus stops in need (recurring activity) - lead & support roles
- Adding bus stops which are in need of benches to the Slack tracking list
- Painting crosswalks in Brewery District - lead & support roles
- Street painting block party - support roles (see Slack post from Christian)
- ....I am sure there are more
Sorry for the late notice - we are also trying to get our ducks in a row as the new year kicks off. Hope to see you all there!
