Subject: Exploring funding, Austin City cultural contracts

Hi, team.

Since we can't find a time to meet, I spoke today with Will about his desires for this. Since we're not a 501 (c)3 organization, we may have to get sponsorship from someone who is. At Will's suggestion, I've left a message for the director of ACOT, who was Will's sponsor a few years ago, feeling out the possibility of being under the ACOT umbrella. As much of this has to have board approval, we may be too late.

However, I'm reading the document today at the url below. We're going for project support II, as a new applicant. It has been 5 years since Will applied for for a Cultural Contract with COA.  With that much distance, I think it qualifies for the project support II.

If anyone has better information, please chime in. As I indicated, I'm spending the afternoon reading this. It has been many years since I actually put my name on one of these things. Much is different.

Will,

Just back in town from Houston.  I have two grants to finish and submit tomorrow and a draft due on Tuesday.  After that I will be available - know that's late but I am a good editor/reviewer.

So sorry - I really do want to help.  Let me know!

Hi.

I, too printed it up, and have now spoken to Latifah at ACOT, the sponsoring agency Will used last time. Will needs to fill in this survey, and we have to bust our brains to get this in by May 1, 4 pm (the walk-in time for the Austin Cultural Contract application. )

http://www.acotonline.org/Parts/Programs/SPQ.pdf is what we need to ask for sponsorship from ACOT. I e-mailed Will off-list, earlier. Maybe he'll get a break in the recording today to fill it in.

As you will see from the city document, there  are alternatives. Latifah suggested I call the city folks, which I have, to see what category Will can apply under. Since he was (presumably) funded before, at least participated in the process and is on the books, we need to find out what category is recommended by the PARD people. As I said, I did place that call. I'm now awaiting a call-back.
