I am very grateful to my first customer, who bought a Stringman in the form of a Pilot version hardware kit.
I conducted several customer discovery interviews, including one with my college roommate Jesse Bikman who managed to become the first person to install the Stringman controller on a mac.
I attended the first session of the Riot Foundations program.
Setting up stringman components is now much simpler - write a custom image to the SD card, boot it, and hold up a wifi share QR code up to their camera
The main repo has been reorganized as a python module so you can now install stringman with pip install “nf_robot[host]” try it!
Pictured below in blue is the MJBots based motor-spool assembly I'm testing. It has almost 10x the torque of the MKS42C motors and is american designed. it would be a signifigant increase in speed, strength, reliability, and precision over what I'm using now, but also a $500 increase in price per robot. nevertheless I feel it may be worth it. let me know your thoughts on this. is price too important to do something like this?
