Hi,

I've had my TEasy Strike for about 6 months or so now, and I've had
some minor problems. So far I have fixed all of them (most were my
fault to begin with), but now I can't fix this one. My stick works
fine on Xbox and PC, but on PS3 the buttons are all messed up. The top
row now reads as L1, R1, L2, R2 and the bottom reads as Sq, X ,Cir,
Tri and the start and select buttons read as L3, R3. I actually had
this problem before and solved it by flashing the latest firmware
(3.3.1). However, I can't do this again since my stick isn't
recognized by my computer when I connect it while holding start (all
other forced modes work fine). The problem originally arose when my
stick suddenly wouldn't auto-detect PS3 and I had to hold HK to get it
to connect. I found this to be a minor annoyance and figured I would
just flash the firmware since that fixed a similar problem before.
After flashing, came the problem I have now.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Alex

Alex,

Just for clarification, when you plug in with START held down and run the .bat file, does it give you an error? If you can flash again (even if it doesn't outright recognize it, but still runs the flashing), try to roll back to 3.2.0 and see if that fixes what you're seeing.

Just tried flashing and it shows the error saying it can't find the
HID Boot device.

Alex,

OK, that sounds like for some reason the chip has bugged out.. it's usually an indication if it won't take a firmware flash. If you're up for it, you can send the board back and I'll swap the chip out and have it back to you asap. Actually, the buttons being weird on PS3 indicates that it may have been in PC mode on accident or something, as HK is PC mode while LK is PS3 forced mode.

Ok, well unfortunately it seems like I have no choice but to send it
back. Tomorrow I'll mail it to you and include the address I'll need
it to be shipped back to. Also, will I need to pay for a new chip, or
for shipping it back to me?

In any case, thanks for the help.

Alex,

No, just cover shipping it to me and I'll take care of the rest.

I just shipped it today. You'll see the address it needs to be shipped
back to on the back of the package.

Thanks again,

Alex
