Hi,

I just bought the Key Strike for my custom stick project and so far I've been really happy with it (easy to set up, good software, built with quality), excluding one little problem. When I put the Key Strike to work in gamepad mode via Key Strike Manager, every button works like a charm, but the stick is not recognized by most of the games/software. Windows recognizes it just fine and shows that the POV HAT directions work, MAME recognizes it also and so does Joy2Key, but any other game/software I've tried does not. Joy2Key actually says, that the stick uses POV HAT 2 instead of POV HAT 1. Is it possible to change that? I strongly suspect the problem lies in there, IF the Key Strike is really using POV HAT 2. I just really would like to use it in gamepad mode (less hassle in Windows gaming environment).

Hello,

great you like the DS :-)
It's unlikely that we modify the firmware, but it defines the hat switch in a normal way in the first place (i.e. it is just defined in a single-report HID descriptor, so I don't know what change there). You could try the MAME mode which works as a keyboard, maybe that suits your needs.

Best regards,
Michael

Ok, thanks for the reply. I guess I'll use it in keyboard encoder mode (MAME mode) then. Not a big problem, just a little one. :) (as many games support gamepads directly, they're configured the buttons pretty much the same way from the start = no need to go to options, just start playing)
