Hello All:
It's been a long time since this list was active (and to be honest I am not even sure who is on it anymore!). But I am using it because Roberto has teamed up with Suarez to create custom jerseys based on his art, as a way to raise money to fight cancer. I have attached images of both the short and long-sleeve versions of jersey, and cycling gloves, along with a sizing chart.
Each purchase of a jersey (or the gloves) will result in a minimum $35 donation ($10 for the gloves) to
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. The purchase price of each item will include the production cost for the jersey from Suarez plus shipping, as well as the donation (which could be more than $35, depending on how the shipping works out). Roberto is doing this solely for the cause of raising money for cancer research, so all revenue beyond the cost of manufacture and shipping will go to Sloan Kettering.
I'm going to buy a long-sleeve, a short-sleeve, and a pair of gloves. If you'd like to order any or all of the gear please let me know which items you would like to purchase and what size (see attached size chart). Important Note: the sizing is for "race" jerseys, meaning if you don't want the jersey to be as tight as race fit, add a few inches to your measurements, or bump up a size if your actual measurements are at the top end of a given size.
Pricing is as follows:
Short-Sleeve Jersey: $110
Long-Sleeve Jersey: $130
Gloves: $36
This email solicitation is to pilot a first round of Roberto's cycling gear for Closing The Gap On Cancer. If it goes smoothly and people like the jerseys, Roberto will produce some other designs going forward, we will get the production costs and the donations dialed in, and set up an online storefront that will make ordering simpler and channel a donation directly to Sloan Kettering (so the tax credit can go back to the purchaser).
For now, though, I will take orders and payments on Roberto's behalf, and we'll just work on getting the gear out on the road and seeing what kind of reaction it gets. Roberto has also got some other cycling clubs and groups ordering from this round.
So hopefully you will help us pilot this so we can try and build it out. If you are up for it, and like the look of the gear, let me know what you would like to order (we are hoping to place this initial order with Suarez next week). If you place an order I will follow up directly with your regarding payment and collection details.
Please feel free to forward this email to any other cyclists you think might be interested in Closing The Gap On Cancer.
Thanks! Tim
