to Stress Management

I hate to say this but.... I am sick and tired of getting the same old
stress management advice from every so-called "professional" that ends
up making me feel more stressed out than before! Do you feel the same?
Of course any stress relief tips can help but when you're already
stressed out, whether it's from work, physical stress, or depression,
sometimes the last thing you need is somebody telling you what to do
and how to feel. So many professionals think that the best way to
provide stress management is to give me "assignments" (like I am in
school or something) and just knowing that I have to start and
complete something does not make me enjoy it.
Has anybody considered that stress management can be as simple as just
finding ways to enjoy yourself? You must understand that I am not
saying that you should avoid common sense stress relief advice such as
eating better, exercising more, getting more rest, etc. What I am
advising, however, is that you take a break from forcing yourself to
participate in some tedious stress relief project, rather - Just Do
Something Fun!
Say Hello To Sunlight Therapy
Did you know that the indoor lighting that you are getting every day
(the artificial lighting) can actually induce higher stress hormone
levels? Stress levels are reduced when your blood pressure is low and
blood pressure remains low when the body absorbs enough calcium. In
order for your body to produce this calcium, it needs the sunlight to
synthesize vitamin D.
I don't know about you, but I spend most of my day indoors working
directly under these lights! It is no wonder I feel stressed out when
I get home and I'm sure the majority of people go through the same
experience. So the best stress management remedy that you can do for
yourself is to get more natural sunlight.
Even if it's only 20 minutes at a time, sunlight therapy is a great
way to relieve stress. When I am at work I get two 15 minute breaks
plus one hour for lunch and I spend every bit of that time sitting in
the sun! After only a few days of doing this, I can feel the stress
melting off. And going home at the end of the day was a lot less
taxing on my anxiety levels. Trust me, stress management has never
been easier.
