Getting together, this Wednesday evening  :-)

Cindy, Gary and I are looking forward to offering some meditation and mindfulness practices this Wednesday. This months theme is 'The Joy of Meditation and Mindfulness':
    • A simple guided meditation that promotes a happier sense of well-being
    • A mindfulness eating exercise releases stress while eating less
    • Tips and discussion on dealing with stress and anxiety

"The Art of Meditation", My Personnel Reflections

"To meditate is to become interested in ... , without being for or against it."

"To meditate is to become interested in ... ,
(awareness)
Intention: To allow the awareness to be clear and spacious, becoming interested in the present moments experience of the body's sensations, the heart's emotions and the mind's thoughts.

without being for or against it." (caring)
Intention: To acknowledge the experience by turning towards it and opening up to it. Just letting it be what it is, without too much judgmentalness (from past memories) or too much expectation (of a future outcome). Rather gently guide the process with skillful caring intentions.

Stress Meditation (understanding) is this interest in ..., and suspending of past judgments and future expectations. This allows for the wisdom of new understandings of stress to arise. These new insights, can then be tried in our daily lives and relationships to reduce stress.

SUMMARY:
The "Art of Stress Meditation" is the one all in compassing meditation that opens mind and softens the heart to the most important needs of each individual.

MEDITATION TIPS:

  1. "Do not force the mind." The Gold Standard of Meditation:
  2. "Lightly guide the mind", with skillful phrases, i.e. "no thing to get", "every thing to know"
  3. "Protect the mind", from becoming overwhelmed with negative emotions or anxious thoughts by skillfully using compassion. By gently, but firmly  grounding some of our attention inside the body. Feeling the sensations of the body as it breathes in/out and feeling to safe sensations of the hips and spine.
