Morning!
Just a quick note on the Streets for People Hang Session this month. We'll be meeting Tuesday, June 14 at TEN20 Brewery in Butchertown at 8:00pm.
Nate Keltch from Louisville Metro Public Works will be on hand to talk about the newly formed Complete Streets Coalition. Lots of folks have been asking about the Coalition, so we're excited he'll be there to get us up to speed. … Also: We'll be talking about the Norris/Douglass redesign proposal — where that stands and next steps for moving it forward.
And, as always, we're just looking forward to hanging out and connecting with like-minded folks. YIMBYs, transit lovers, beer lovers, tree lovers, dog lovers, neighborhood alleyway explorers — we hope to see you there!
Best,
Chris

Thanks to everyone who came out to TEN20 tonight. Always great to connect. So many great conversations and it’s awesome to see how many people care about this stuff.
I wanted to, as promised, follow-up on a few items:
First off: shout out and thank you to Nate Keltch, Amanda Deatherage, and CW Nicole George for their work to get the Vision Zero Ordinance passed by Metro Council.
One more thanks to Nate for coming out and speaking about Metro’s Complete Streets Coalition. Here is the application for joining the Coalition: https://arcg.is/aXP4K
Streets for People has proposed a Slow Streets Program that would fund traffic calming measures across all of Louisville Metro. It’s the 11th hour with the city budget — please email the Public Works Committee and your Council Member in the next two days, and ask them to “Please fund the Slow Streets Program.”
Thanks to everyone who participated in the Norris/Douglass public input process. The public survey received >1,200 responses, with more than 2-to-1 support for the proposal. Amazing. We’ll be in touch about next steps.
The Preston Corridor Plan process is ongoing. Reach out to me if you’d like to get better connected into that.
There’s a great weekly bike ride happening called Bikes Cruise & Brews — every Sunday 12:00pm at Logan Street Market. Check out the link above for more info.
Personal note so I don’t forget or let if fall off my radar: Streets for People needs to get better connected with KIPDA, especially around the K&I Bridge proposal.
Shout out to everyone who snagged a Bicycling for Louisville hoodie or sticker tonight. My wife especially thanks you for helping get that stuff out of our basement!
Finally: if you’re feeling generous, don’t feel shy about donating to Streets for People. We appreciate the support!
Looking forward to seeing everyone again in July!
All the Best,
Chris
