Hey Folks-

Wanted to send out a quick email about Streets for People meetups happening this month.

We’ll be having our May Hang Session at Zanzabar on Preston St. Come!

For all you parent/advocates out there who find 8:00pm on a weeknight to be just a little too late… we’ll be hosting a Family Fun Ride this month. We’ll meet up at Douglass Community Center at 10:00, start out around 10:15 for our ride to the Seneca Park playground, and then head back to Douglass around 11:00. Come!

S4P is proposing a redesign of Norris Pl and Douglass Blvd in the Highlands! We’ll be hosting a public meeting on our proposed two-way protected bike lane for Norris/Douglass at the Bardstown Road Presbyterian Church. Come!

A few more details on the above:

May 10th Hang Session-

This one will be more casual / less formal than our April meetup. No agenda. That said, I’d like to have some focus on the Preston Corridor Plan -- an effort that’s still in its early stages and could use some organizing efforts. I’ve heard from a lot of folks who are interested in this plan but unclear on how to get involved. Let’s use this night to get connected!

May 14th Family Fun Ride-

Non-parents are welcome too! Just be aware that (a) there will be children! and (b) it’ll be a super chill ride because there’ll be a bunch of parents carrying children on their bikes!

May 24th Public Meeting-

I’ll be sharing a link to our survey on the proposal soon as well. We’ll need all the positive YIMBY vibes we can get for this one! Your help is needed!

Looking forward to seeing you this May!

Happy Derby!

Chris

Hello!
Just a reminder that we're having our monthly Hang Session tomorrow at Zanzabar at 8:00pm! Hope you can join us! While there's no formal presentations like last time, I'd love for folks who are interested in the Preston Corridor master plan to use the opportunity to connect.

A couple other important notes:
1) The Norris-Douglass Public Meeting is set for Tuesday, May 24 at 6:00pm at Bardstown Road Presbyterian Church. I'd love to have a lot of supportive voices in the crowd that night. ... In the meantime, here is a public survey on the proposal: https://tinyurl.com/NorrisDouglassSurvey Please share with anyone who you feel is interested in making Louisville a more walkable, more accessible, more vibrant, more bike-friendly place!

2) I had mentioned last time that we were planning a "Family Bike Ride", but that sounded really lame and square. So we've rebranded it our Parks & Playground Progressive! It's this Saturday, May 14. I hope you can come! Full details below!

All the Best,
Chris
