API ?

Hi,

I'm searching for a software that could help me set up my own music server. I'm found your project and Subsonic (which you should know :)).

I'm more interested in yours because it is a PHP/MySQL project and it fits my needs in terms of features. Altough, there's one thing that makes me hesitate. I'd love to use my phone for listening to music from my music server, but streaming does not work for me (I often listen to music, and I'm afraid I'll kill my data plan with a streaming music server :)).

So here's my question, do you plan to add an API (REST for example) that one could use to develop an Android app ? If I'm right, it's kind of easy to do so with Symfony (although it's been a long time I didn't code PHP and symfony).

If you're interested in this API thing, I can try (I write try because I don't have much spare time) to have a look at it ^^ (specs and client side)

Definitely have a look at the "service" routes in the project. Nearly everything in streeme is service driven, but the API could use a little generalization and documentation. Shouldn't be too hard to hook into another platform.
