Merge (overwrite) Matched Records Option?

When one manually imports a file via the StreamSend website, there is an option to "Merge (overwrite Matched Records", the default value of which is "YES". However, when one imports a file using the ImportsController in the API there is no option I see to set this value. Moreover, the default when importing via the ImportsController seems to be "NO".

I definitely have a need to set this option to YES when utilizing the API because we must be able to update subscriber data when importing matched records. Is this doable?

Use the "skip duplicates" tag in the Create() import call described in our API documentation here:

Thank you very much for your prompt reply. However, I think there may have been a misunderstanding of what we're trying to accomplish. According to the API documentation, the "skip_duplicates" tag determines whether or not "existing people will be ignored". What we're trying to do is actually merge matched records (see attached screenshot). Basically, I can find no tag within the Imports controller that handles this particular feature (a feature, that as you can see by the screenshot, is available when we upload a file manually using the StreamSend website).

FYI, just to be sure, I did go ahead and try using the "skip_duplicates" tag (setting it to both TRUE and FALSE) and it made no difference in whether or not matched records were merged or not.

Can you please assist?
